Latest Watchtower about Education ??

in the subway station holding a washtowel which had a title dealing with education, can't remember the exact wording now.
she was actively pursuing everyone as they swiped their metrocard, so as she thrust the mag towards me i said "oh, it's about education, does it say anything about college"?

How did you feel when you first celebrated Halloween or Christmas
by trujw inwith the holidays amongsts us how did you feel the first time you celebrated the holidays?
the first time i felt like i was in north korea trying to slip pass the secret police.
how weird a wonderful family holiday and i was acting like i just stole the mona lisa..

this year is my first since i was a weeee child! my birthday and haloween this month and i couldnt be more excited!!!! since im fading i have too be somewhat descreet, but in a perverse way that makes it even more fun!!!!! muahahahhahhaha!!!
Emma- sooo true what you said about shunning working against them. same here as soon as i became slightly irregular at meetings, no sign of the "friends" socially so i feel pretty confident about decorating the hell out of the inside of my apt. true, fading would be much much harder if anyone actually tried to "encourage the weak ones".
undercover-same here, dont know why but ive always been fascinated with halloween! its my favorite by far!

i tend to think that substantial decline in members is on the way, especially in developed countries with internet access (i think cedars has an article on this on his site?).
there is no real growth to speak of in developed countries. every assembly ive been to since '96 you only jw offspring getting baptised.
soooo many are mentally on the fence/waking up/tuning out, but have to stay in for logistical reasons (family/work for a jw/rent from a jw ect).
plus think of the internet, if you cant get active jws to quit searching for porn, you cant tell them tonot look at sites like this...
im surprised theyve sustained themselves this long.

by XBEHERE inwhat can you say about the conditional friendships that being a jehovah's witness promotes?
i am still active and there are many who sh*t on me and tossed me aside because of my attitude change.
to me it just seems too easy for these people to turn on and off affection.

whats i find weird is when i try to put myself in their shoes, thinking back to a time when i was "strong" and i imagine one of them missing meetings, i cant see myself avoiding them or quietly refusing to hang out withthem anymore.
in fact, if they had stuck by me, still being my friends (socializing outside of meetings, talikng an interest in my life, ect) i probably never would of woke up and ended up on this site. i wouldnt have needed worldly friends, i wouldnt have moved on. deciding someone is bad association when they are just barely beginning to miss meeting kinda seals the deal and pushes them out.
funny how that works.

i like the idea of doing several at different intervals thru october. gotta keep mine indoors though (jw neighbors, boooooo!)
