  Jesus said 'by your own words you will be judged'. For all the rhetoric spewed by the WBTS about Jah hating child abuse, they better take heed. Let's remember, and as previous posts have noted, according to the scriptures, the mess mankind finds itself in is because the devil molested Jah's original children. Does He have an interest in child molestation? You better believe it. And He doesn't need some yo-yo policy to help Him figure out what to do about it.

  NEW JW POLICY POSTED!!!

  i don't know if anyone has posted on this already but there is a new press release at http://www.jw-media.org/releases/default.htm?content=bg_molestation.htm that defines the current jw policy and i believe it has taken a step in the right direction!.

  although they have not literally changed it to require reporting to the authorities in all states, they have finally put into print the following: "additionally, the victim may wish to report the matter to the authorities, and it is his or her absolute right to do so.".

  i am glad to see, straight from the wt, acknowledgement that the adults involved have every right to go to the police.

  Amac.....not to beat a dead horse,but....you say the quoted policy to report to the authorities is one's 'absolute right' with no sanctions for doing so. I've read the policy a few times now and nowhere does it refer to that 'no sanctions for doing so' clause. Did I miss something?

  Wakeup Call for Sister-in-law

  last evening my cell phone rang and it was a sister-in-law of mine who had left her jw husband (one of my older brothers) because he was molesting their daughters and the elders blamed her for not being an adequate wife.

  she left and was df'd for it.

  anyway, we have had correspondence for the past four or five years but never did we talk about the "private" matters.

  my mom (a jw) watched the dateline program.

  i asked her the next day what she thought of it.

  she told me that erica was not a jw and that is why they did not support her in court.

  Mikctr,......Are you one of JW's? Have you experienced their brand of civil/legal and scriptural compliance of laws/principles regarding child-molestation? What a number of us are concerned about is the obvious descrepency between written policy and actual application. Supporting the perpatrator while discrediting the victim is a very real dynamic in this organization. And as we are finding out, not as uncommon as we were led to believe. This type of manipulation is, at the least, tacit approval for the woefully inadequate policy for protecting children from untreated offenders. All in all, the WBTS is being forced to look at this problem.

  I can just hear it know ' Brothers, there is new light. Yes, oh yes, we were all gathered together in that special room and we received new light on how to refine our child-molestation policy'. 'Er, excuse me brother, but does this new light have anything to do with the likes of Bill Bowen, Barbara Anderson, and Erica'. 'Quick, someone seize that instigator and throw the postate out!!!'...all in all, whatever it took for this tragic denial to be brought out in the open, I am truly grateful.

  i guess everyone's speculating on the reaction of the wts to last night's dateline.

  seen a few reactions posted here so far, but nothing to indicate what the gb is going to do about it.. i think the average r&f dubs are going to have a far more adverse reaction than many think.

  while the face put on to the public and to people like us may say "apostate attack", the private personal reaction we don't see is the one to consider.. how can this not cast doubt in all but the most hardcore dub?.

  Amazing Survived Major Heart Attack

  i just spoke on the phone to amazing (jim whitney) who is in intensive care in a chicago hospital.

  on monday he had a major heart attack, had a stint put in an artery to unblock things and may have bypass surgery.

  he's comfortable enough right now, but of course will have to make some big lifestyle changes.
