well, all i can say is wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they have been preparing everyone by way on tv and radio on the sexual abuse in the jw religion.

they had a small piece on the 6 o'clock news with a small interview with bill bowen.

Annoited: Not all their family examples so goo...

while i have nothing against the ones that i knew of that were annoited, i found their family examples a little troubling.

i'm sure die hard jw's will respond that this is because satan is tormenting them, much as he did to job.

:( while that might be true, i also found that most ran their families like nazi's, and much of their problems were their own fault!!

Not only the "annointed" ones, but also most of the elders had family lives that reeked with " cognitive dissonance ". When the great cloud of dust of my own life settled, I realized that all that effort spent trying to get on their "planet" was a waste. Their "planet" is most certainly an illusion.

That's the purpose in posting this thread. Contrary to manipulated, contrived, inflated statistics, the reality of the WBTS's "growth" is truly demonstrated at such assemblies.

i don't think any of this is really all that unusual so i'm sorry if you find it dull.

i was raised in the jw cult from birth, a third generation member to boot.

my family was full of elders, ministerial servants and overseers of all sorts.

Welcome to the board. I hope you have reported the rape, others could be protected....by the way..what's with the mindset of JW's and rape. Two cases I know of, the mothers told us with the same feeling as if they had gotten a bad perm from a sis and had been overcharged. I know one of the cases wasn't reported and pretty sure the other wasn't either. What's up with that?

I was through there in August on my motorcyle, stopped at a rafting business on the north end of town. Witnits aside, it seemed like a neat little town.

i am a newcomer to this site, and a curious one at that.. i have been dating a guy who was / is to some degree, a jw.

although he no longer attends meetings, and does not share jw's beliefs, he is active in other ways.

for example, he is active on this site; he spends a good deal of time referencing his past life as a jw; and, he gets very angry (but not towards me) every time he hears or thinks about the jw's.

when you look back, were you considered by others a "devout" jw?

( michael jackson and family as well as the williams sisters have been charecterized as being "devout").

did you consider yourself sincere and devoted?

JW/HLC visit to our hospital

yesterday jehovahs witnesses and the hospital liason committee visited our hospital to donate a blood cell saver machine which had been funded by the local congregations in our county of kent in england.

a buffet lunch was provided, along with 4 talks to a large audience of surgical and medical consultants, anaetheologists, paedatricians, and obstetraticians (sp!

) about the future of blood and the transfusion of such products.

Thanks for the story. I try to see the positive in most situations, so it was nice to see a machine donated that will benefit others. As for the Witnesses being able to "conscientously" use this device as opposed to the restrictions of other just as viable proceedures, I'm sure those in the medical field will just write it off as the rantings of any other religion based on Pyramidology.

No longer filling my spiritual needs...

i feel very sad today.

i see my old jw friends almost every day on my way to the subway, they are street witnessing.

i've talked to a couple of them about my doubts, etc.

Wow!!!....though it's only been a few short months since I "resigned", it seems so strange that we fell for the power structure of their abusive cult. "Disfellowshipped, Disassociated, Public reproof, Private reproof, Privilidges with-held, Privilidges returned", what a bunch of man-made mumbo-jumbo. Educate yourself, and run as fast as you can from that cult, and try not to look back.
