  I told my daughter I was leaving "the truth" this weekend.

  last week, i told you i was going to tell my daughter that i was leaving the truth this weekend and you all gave me sound advice.

  but, i cannot keep a secret this heavy from the person i love most on this earth, my only daughter, who is beautiful inside and out.. well, i have always had an open and honest relationship with my daughter, and i guess it paid off.

  this weekend i visited my daughter (who lives in another state) and i told her i was leaving "the truth.

  Also wanted to add, having raised three children in the JW religion I often wonder..how do they look at us , really, after all those years of teaching them and telling them that "The JW's have "The Truth". How can they respect us?

  All of a sudden we are telling them it was all a lie?

  How do you answer that question...

  Thankfully all my kids left in their middle and late teens when I did but I still think it is in the back of their minds...

  Sounds like you did your research and prepared for the visit..you did a good job!

  It's so easy to get sidetracked but it sounds like you covered quite a bit in a orderly fashion..

  And just for the record, I can never ever refer to the JW religion as "The Truth"..it churns my stomach...

  Dead Birds And Fish

  does anyone have any idea why birds are literally dropping dead from the sky in four or five states.

  and even in sweden,hundreds of birds are dead.

  and fish are turning up dead too,not only in the states,but also brazil and new zealand.. they're trying to say new year's eve fireworks frightened the birds to death.

  Well, I decided to do a search on what can cause an animals mouth/tongue to turn blue or have a blue tint..the results were interesting.

  One thing that stood out was that if an animlas mouth turns blue, just as in a humans, it indicates a very sick animal. Usually associated with not getting enough air. Pneumonia or influenza being mentioned..

  I can't post links here but I would recommend looking blue mouths up..it is pretty interesting.

  My imagination was going towards, a research project gone wrong..

  The cold temperature changes affecting the animals..

  They likened it also to a cyanide type poisoning..

  If so did they get it from the water that we drink?

  I have noticed a lot of articles lately about our polluted water supplies..

  Snoozy..going to look up cyanide in our water supply..

  Another though..most of the animals usually travel in one species..or packs..or specific schools of fish. Possibly they all were exposed in the same area? Same with the birds, they too could have all drank in the same area..?

  Oh I so agree Dan..I also noticed that if you have a different viewpoint on a subject than the majority posting , they will rip you to shreds. It's often useless to even try and express your feelings on a subject. Reminds me of how cruel kids can be sometimes..kids/teens that insist that everyone think, walk, talk and dress like they do..same here sometimes.

  Ladies: were you often left to deal with the children at assemblies/meetings?

  I knew a elder and his family that had several kids and he always helped with them..as soon as the youngest one would act up it was off to the bathroom for a whipping..he was a mere 6 months old. l Then he would come back with the baby sniffling (with the dad often covering the childs mouth) and tie the child to the metal chair with diapers so he would sit up. (at 6 months old). The child usually fell asleep as he was worn out from the spanking (and crying) he just got.

  At least you cared enough about the child to do something else instead of beating them into submission..

  I can't believe so many praised him for being "Such a good Father"...

  You rarely saw any of his kids laugh or even smile.

  Nation wide protest on the shunning policies of The Watchtower Organization!

  on jan 21 and 22, 2011 a nation wide protest is being organized to alert people on the discrimination that is blatantly taking place in the watchtower organization.

  the public needs to know about the disfellowshipping and subsequent shunning that is going on in the jehovah's witness cult.

  this flagrantly heinous,wicked practice must be stopped.

  Auzzies. Manson Doco on SBS ONE 9:30 pm Sunday

  This just caught my eye as I was looking up info on Mackenzie Phillips and her family. Machenzie's parents were Singers of "Mama's and Papa's". She was on a reality show that was doing a follow up on those that went through rehab for addictions. She was telling the stories of her past addictions and her father John Phillips (incest). I was surprised to see a link between John Phillips and Sharon Tate..it is like a spider web of connections between Sharon and other famous people. John had stated in an interview that he was supposed to go to Sharon's house the night of the murder but decided not to. He was so glad he didn't.

  Hoarders....OMG

  tonight's show is one i have been looking forward to seeing.

  it is a story about a man that has over 2,000 rats in his home as pets!.

  his house is a wreck, i could stand that .

  Only me..my Mom also went through something like that. It only lasted a few months but I remember it. She kept a mixture of clorox and soap in the bathroom sink and was constantly washing her hands. So much so that they were raw. I do remeber her going to the Dr but don't remember what happened. She did eventually stop the ritual ..it was never mentioned again.

  Funny how as a kid you just accept certain things without questions..

  My mom throws a not so subtle threat my way

  my fade is going well, but my mom knows full well what my thoughts are on the wts.

  it seems that she feels comfortable just ignoring the situation in order to keep seeing her grandchildren.. the other day however we were talking about someone we know who is making it very difficult for her parents to see their grandchild.. then out of the blue, my mom turns in my direction and says, that if any of her kids try to deny her from seeing her grandchildren, she would take them to court and get a court order to force them to let her see them.. i know what the message was, and it was loud and clear.

  she is letting me know that if i get disfellowshipped there's no way i can keep the kids away from her.
