just wondering!.

i know many would say ''why the hell would you do that?".

just wondering if i could actually get hard copies of some stuff for a 'donation' and not have to hunt it down.... mind you, i'd have a hard time making myself look conservative!.

i am giving an update to my health.

i would like to thank everyone for the support you have given me.

i have been undergoing treatment for the cancer and so far so good.

I guess we should be glad they even have a treatment for cancer but did they have to make it where it makes you so sick?

Thanks so much for the update and so sorry you are going through the treatment..I heard they can be miserable.

My Grandmother's Funeral

today was my grandmother's funeral.

she had a hard life (which i will not divulge here) and the circumstances of her death weren't much better.

she was not a jw but because she was my mother's mother she got a jw eulogy (yeah the jw infomercial).

Mrs Jones, I am so sorry your Grandmother had a hard life..it is always so sad when someone dies and you feel they suffered too much!

I felt that way when my parents died young (to me) They were 67 and I felt they had so much life left to live. They had a lot of sicknesses and my Mom had mental problems that kept them from having a truly happy life. My heart ached for them.

Today is the 8th anniversary of my hubby's death also. I guess we will both always remember 2-5-03 for me and 2-5-11 for you.

I am so sorry for the loss of your grandma..

Can j.w.'s go to Christian funerals?

i went to a catholic funeral yesterday.

there was no wake, only a mass and the burial and military honors at the cemetery.

although it was not a relative, my j.w.

My JW in law's came to my parents funerals(Non- JW's) and my MIL had the nerve to make snide remarks all through it..idiots!

They also refused to stand when a prayer was said.

ps..Why are you covering for your daughter? She should pay any consequences for her actions if she is a JW..

I figured by the term "Global warming" meant that the weather was subject to extremes..like harsher winters and warmer summers..

And I will take snow over floods any day..warm or not! You can always walk on top of snow..

What's Your Favourite Way to Treat a Bad Cold?

i've been suffering from a really bad cold, with flu-type symptoms, for almost a week now.

very unusual for me.. it couldn't have come at a worse time, as i've just started working as a self-employed person, working outdoors in all weathers.

no sick pay, so no money coming in.. i expect that i'll be ok for monday, though.. i'm right in the middle of making a homemade lamb curry.

I usually stuff kleenex in my nose as it is probably constantly running and take two tylenols and sleep for 48 hours..then I get up and blow my nose...

Seriously I very seldom catch anything..but when I do it lasts for a month!

Both times I can remember happened in January so I am assuming I had some type of flu.

Sore throat, cough and constant running nose..I ate a lot of cough drops and stuffed my nose so I could sleep without stuff running all over my face (ew gross).

My daughter had the bad flu ( test confirmed it) this last January and after two weeks she went to the Dr and got some meds for her subsequent infections of the chest.

She felt better in days. I asked my Dr how long they were contagious when they got "The Bad Flu" and she said 3 to 4 weeks. It lasts a long time!

With a cold an old wives tale is that "It takes a week to catch a cold (after being exposed) a week to have a cold and a week to get over it..

due to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?

remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.

what about the thousands that don't get caught?

I know at least two, and I just heard that a girl (JW) I knew was molested by her Grandfather, he was not a witness however.

She was sent to stay with him for the summer by her JW parents because they needed some time alone..the Grandfather had just got out of a mental institution.

She just told me he molested her when she was 8. She was afraid to say anything..

I remembered meeting him and knew that the girls Mom did NOT like him and thought something was mentally not right about him, and yet they still sent their two small children to stay the summer with him and his wife. (their step grandmom). Because the wife wanted to spend more time alone with her hubby, she felt the kids would get in the way.

She never did want kids and only had them because her hubby wanted them.

I felt so bad for the girl as she has been seeing a therapist for 3 years she said.

She is just so happy to be back in touch with me as I know what she went through with her parents..

Does Genesis 19 condemn Homosexuality?

there are many "proof" texts that people (including jws) use to justify their rejection of anyone that is gay.

there are a few scriptures that you can pull up and try to make a case for show homosexuals why they are evil and wrong.. i've been researching more of these scriptures and i'm coming to some very different conclusions than many other christians hold, especially jws.

i wanted to talk about the first text used by many people to condemn homosexual behaviour.
