  male human beings have built whole cultures around the idea that penis envy is "natural" to women - though having such an unprotected organ might be said to make men vulnerable, and the power to give birth makes womb envy at least as logical.in short, the characteristics of the powerful, whatever they may be, are thought to be better than the characteristics of the powerless - and logic has nothing to do with it.what would happen, for instance, if suddenly, magically, men could menstruate and women could not?the answer is clear - menstruation would become an enviable, boast-worthy, masculine event:men would brag about how long and how much.boys would mark the onset of menses, that longed-for proof of manhood, with religious ritual and stag parties.congress would fund a national institute of dysmenorrhea to help stamp out monthly discomforts.sanitary supplies would be federally funded and free.

  My Uncle is Dying.

  nearly a year ago my uncle was diagnosed with prostate cancer - he initially thought it was just a bladder infection and it took him passing out to go have more serious tests.

  thus he received this news and shared it with us, his family.. the family rallied behind him and we all did everything we could to get him to his treatments, make sure he ate properly and supported him.

  my cousins came out from the uk when it looked like he was going to die in a couple of days.

  I'm so sorry to hear that Lou Belle...my FIL thought they had caught it all when he had his operation to remove the prostate but it reared it's ugly head again..they said he didn't need Chemo but I think he took radiation. When it later came back it went into bone cancer and he had a lot of pain..my mil had a hard time caring for him, We would go up on weekends but I am sure she could have used more help during the week..They were JW's and the JW's would stop to visit him but no one offered to stay with him while she went out for a while..she eventually had to quit the meetings and someone would tape them for her. It took about 2 years for him to die..

  We have all been touched by illness and death and it's no wonder we flocked to the promise of the JW's to someday once again we can see our loved ones..lets hope they are right about that one..there's always hope..

  Symptoms of a Transient Stroke:

  Symptoms of transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) develop suddenly and are always temporary. They usually go away within 10 to 20 minutes. TIA symptoms are just like stroke symptoms. They vary depending on which part of the brain is affected. Common symptoms of TIA include:

  • Weakness on one side of your body or an inability to move a part or all of one side of your body, such as your face, arm, and leg.
  • Numbness, tingling, or a feeling of heaviness on one side of your body.
  • Trouble seeing, such as blurring or double vision, dimness, or a sensation that a shade has been pulled down over the eyes.
  • Trouble speaking or finding words.
  • Trouble understanding words.
  • Vertigo, unsteadiness, dizziness, clumsiness, staggering, or fainting. You may have trouble walking. You may also have a drop attack, which is a sudden loss of strength in your legs.

  It is not always easy to recognize a transient ischemic attack (TIA) because you may think that the symptoms are caused by normal aging or other conditions. But you should treat any symptoms of a TIA as an emergency because you have no way to know whether they are from a stroke or a TIA.

  If you have symptoms of a stroke, seek emergency medical care. General symptoms of a stroke include:

  • Sudden numbness, tingling, weakness, or paralysis in your face, arm, or leg, especially on only one side of your body.
  • Sudden vision changes.
  • Sudden trouble speaking.
  • Sudden confusion or trouble understanding simple statements.
  • Sudden problems with walking or balance.
  • A sudden, severe headache that is different from past headaches.

  Symptoms can vary depending on whether the stroke is caused by a blood clot (ischemic stroke) or bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke), where the stroke occurs in the brain, and how bad it is.

  You still knew how to get here..amazing..

  I would say you are either pulling our leg or you had a transient stroke..which is not a full blown stroke but a warning that things are not as they should be with your arteries..better get it checked with a ultra sound..or?

  I was shocked as I went ot bed early and didn't hear about it till this morning..now they are saying we may get the same here in St Louis Wednesday..

  We had pretty bad lightning and thunderstorms late this morning and several are without power and lots of limbs and power liines down..

  Crossing my fingers..glad you and your town didn't get hit Robdar..and my heart goes out to those that it hit..that had to be a horrible feeling having all your belongings wiped out..

  A lot of lives were lost..

  I have decided to say things like "What a horrible thing to say to a child, of course I won't tell them that".. Turn it back on them and make them look like the child abuser they are by telling kids all that stuff and giving them nightmares for years..shame on her!

  Assembly this weekend, but also the Rapture...

  can i not go, and then hide for six months.

  will my friends believe i got taken on saturday?.

  if it really does happen, how embarrassed will the attendees be when they walk outside and find out that everyone else is gone, but they got left behind (and had to listen to a really boring talk on being encouraged to pioneer while all the excitement was going on outside?).
