RIP: Timothy Campbell

this is old news, as it happened six or so months ago, but i just found out today.

timothy campbell died of kidney cancer in november of 2013. he started one of the first ex-jw forums, beyondjw.

i met him in person once.

* Invitation to Follow Christ Convention/ Ridiculous *

while i was visiting my friend last evening.

on her table was an invitation to the follow christ convention for jehovah's witnesses.

now i know that evelyn's sister is a jw from chicago, so i figured that is who the invitation was from.

Poppers..just for the record John Knapp used the ex JW's ..He claimed he wanted to to help the ex jw's (Breaking the cults hold) but also charged fees..I just thought I would post an update of what happened to him for any that thought he was such a geat guy..

It was agreed they would meet at the McDonald's next to Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because they only had six dollars among them, they could ride their bikes there and Jennie Webster, that cute girl in Social Studies, lives on the same street and they might see her.
Ten years later, the group of now 25 year old guys discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed t ... hey would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the beer was cheap, the bar had free snacks, the house band was good, there was no cover charge and there were lot of cute girls.
Ten years later, at 35 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was decided they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the booze was good, it was near their gym and, if they went late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids.
Ten years later, at 45, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the martinis were big and the waitresses wore tight pants.
Ten years later, now 55, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the prices were reasonable, they have a nice wine list and fish is good for your cholesterol.
Ten years later, at 65 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the lighting was good and they have an early bird special.
Ten years later, at 75 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the food was not too spicy, and the restaurant was handicapped accessible.
Ten years later, at 85 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because they had never been there before.

Is there a pedophile epidemic ?

after reading another thread on pedophiles i was wondering if there is a pedophile epidemic or is it just that we now have more access to the information?

it seems like everywhere you read there are more and more cases being reported.

are we becoming a nation with no morals at all?

DOGGONE, Thank you for that information about the brain and pedophiles. About your comment on child sexual abuse being lower now than ever..I just can't wrap my arms around that fact. Is that in comparison to the population today?

RottenRiley, I was speaking of a pedophile epidemic in the whole world..not just the JW's .

As far as I remember, only if they both live through the JW teaching of Armageddon. As the bible states, marriage ends with death. :(

Good point about the angels..probably because they aren't subject to armageddon..it must be something in the destruction/death/resurrection that wipes out their private parts and makes them useless..
Can't help but wonder tho about the angels..what sex are they supposedly if they were chasing after the virgins.. ;)

Probably because the bible was written by man. So many contradictions, at least to me... Another reason I no longer trust the bible. I am sure there is a better explanation then mine tho..

After reading another thread on pedophiles I was wondering if there is a Pedophile epidemic or is it just that we now have more access to the information? It seems like everywhere you read there are more and more cases being reported. Are we becoming a nation with no morals at all? I can't help but wonder where it all is going..what is next. The older I get the more it seems like humans are throwing all morals to the wind. Sad..I heard a comment on TV that really struck me..they said that we are being conditioned ..nothing shocks us anymore. At least that's how it seems to me. People need more and more excitement to stimulate themselves..which includes nothing is sacred..

Maybe I need to stay away from the news for a while. Course at my age not keeping up with current affairs may get me diagnosed as senile..
