  back when i was a jw i saw many people df'd because of smoking.

  it was probably the second most common reason aside from fornication and adultrey.

  i can't tell you how many brothers and sisters i knew in my cong.

  Hey..It's pretty darn cold here in Missouri too!

  At least we are going into a warming spell..over the freezing mark for a few days. Then rain..hopefully it will melt all the sleet that is sticking around.

  Snoozy..who lived in Mo most of her life..except Oak Ridge, Tennessee for a year and a half..that was the first time Oak Ridge had snow in winter that the townfolk could remember..

  Out of Mythic into Rational consciousness, the EX-JW Journey

  i'm hoping that sharing some thoughts and asking some questions might be fun, and maybe helpful for a few.

  have you wondered how two people can look at the same information, go through the same experience as you, perhaps even be party to the same conversation yet come away with an entirely different perception?

  Hi Steve...

  Well..I don't have any thoughts yet. But I just got my brother the book "Power of Myth" by Joseph Campbell. Has anyone seen or read this yet?

  I also got him the DVD "The Power of Myth". It is an interview between him and Bill Moyer.( It's boring at his work so he brings his portable DVD player and watches DVD's.).

  It deals with Mythology and comparitive religion.Joseph Campbell is a scholar of Mythology and folklure.

  I almost wish I got the DVD for me also. Maybe when he's done with it he can mail it back for me to watch.

  I've always believed there was something to mythology.

  I think that the doctor found the cure for my headaches

  i've been having headaches everyday!

  i thought that i could have a tumor on my brain, migraines, sinus headache, or just my nerves!

  oh yeah, i also thought that i was a hypochondriac and/or i was just crazy.. turn out it is my nerve/s.

  ps..Strange story..after hubby got sick I was looking at the TV but not paying attention..when all of a sudden I saw with kaleidoscope eyes!

  What I was seeing was like looking through a kaliedoscope.All different colors.

  When I went to the Dr (M.D. eye specialist) he said it was a migrane type headache. That was how they actually look.(Migraine) .I had no pain with it.

  He put drops in my eyes to relax them and it went away..never came back. That was really wierd..I thought I was having a stroke! Or cracking up also..

  Snoozy who is going to find out how to spell Kalidescope(kaleidoscope) correctly and edit this ...

  Being a JW quite a few years ago..at one time it was debated whether or not JW's could even swear on the Bible..I guess they made up their mind..

  This is the first time I have seen the video..and I certainly wouldn't go anywhere near a JW from his testimony..it's jerks like that that are running the organization!...

  He could hop skip and jump and dance around questions better than anyone I know... He bad!..

  Please rescue me! I just got hit with a JW Mac Truck!

  oh my, i just had a visit from a jw who proceeded to, for an hour and half, try and cover every doctrine in the book, jump from scripture to scripture, half the time i was so confused about what was being said.

  the other witness barely got a word in edgewise.

  i quickly realized that there was going to be no discussion--it was sit and listen and try and look intelligent.

  I think Jgnat hit the nail right on the head! Sounds like a "Chatty Cathy doll..pull her string and hear her talk....and talk..and talk..

  Overzealous and eager..what a combo.

  I had a JW girlfriend like that and it was fun to go door to door or on returns (Backcalls) with her because all I had to do was listen and nod occasionally.. ..
  She did ALL the talking..and I got to count the time...

  What's the longest you ever waited for an appointment?

  i don't know if i set a record, but after 2 years and 2 months, finally the blood doctor will see me......lol.

  this all started back 2 years and 2 months ago, when my family doctor noticed that i had too much iron in me.

  so, he gave me a paper to go see a blood specialist.. so, after 1 year i phoned and they said it could take up to 2 years, and they told me to wait.

  Dentist ...2 months

  Dr.... If new usually 2-4 weeks. My usual Dr..a few days to a week.

  In a waiting room...I refuse to wait more than an hour tops..I usually start fidgeting after 30 minutes..

  I go to the receptionist and tell them I need to reschedule for a less busy day for the Dr..(Works better than griping.)

  When I go back I am usually not kept waiting so long..It's worth the second trip!

  The Catholics are huge but that doesn't make them right..same with the JW's.

  Numbers really mean nothing.People work with numbers all the time and can always find a way to make them work to their advantage..so numbers mean nothing to me!
