My Momma always warned me to stay away from the gypsies and the Jews because they still kids!
If I saw them coming I would cross the street and walk on the other side...
Snoozy..
there is quite large community of them in this area.
the more you get to know them or deal with them the less you like them.
what a strange and ugly culture.

Gopher...I got to see ELO in concert..It was my first and I had just left the JW's..I was shocked to see everyone smoking joints..I got high just sitting in the crowd..I couldn't understand why the place wasn't raided!
But I loved it..
Snoozy..who gets to go see Tom Jones in may...What's new pussycat........
well, i finally got a response to my letter, and it only took them almost three months!
models of efficiency, they are.
actually, big tex and i think they had to run this through the legal department.
I too am just now reading this..I am so sorry for your loss!
Not to be vulgar but that letter from the society makes me ill! Having had a jw hubby that was dying from cancer and knowing just how many times they "Visited" him...I know for a fact they lie!
When the elders were called on the fact that no one was visiting my hubby their responce was" I thought so and so was visiting him". Each thought the other one was visiting him so NO one visited him..then eventually when he was in the final stages they sent a very old servant that was almost deaf to visit him...read him the daily text..(about a woman's mentral cycle) said a prayer and left.
It didn't really matter..hubby was out of it anyway.
So I will tell them to their faces...LIAR!
I feel so sorry that your Dad became so desperate that he felt that was the only way out. I am sure for him that was the only answer.
Being uprooted and moving into a one room apartment ..he probably felt like he lost any identity of who he was. I felt the same way when hubby died. It's a very empty feeling.
Again..I know this is late but I am so sorry for your loss...
Big hug..Snoozy...
it's been a while since i posted here- i frequently lurk, but have been busy with work, life, and not letting the fact that i was a jw for so long linger over my life and become overcome with "what if's?
yesterday we got a phone call from my mother in law who is a jw.
she was distraught because she still has my husband (her son) who is no longer a jw as her medical and legal poa.
I was hubby's POA on the all JW papers..the elders didn't have to sign it!!!!
This was done even tho I told him I didn't know what I would do if they said he needed blood. Also he had a JW mother and sister and bil that could have been on it but they lived an hour away.He preferred me.

I make peanut butter pie with the same recipe. Omit the coconut and add a couple tablespoons peanut butter!
Do you just use the egg yolks in the creme mix and save the whites for the meringue? (That's what I do)
Snoozy...

my video store has a plasma t,v which plays blue-ray movies all day long...now i want one!!
the picture quality is many times clearer then normal dvd {remember vhs hah}...the sound is heaps better.
is it "meterialistic" of me to spend alot of cash on something i don't "need?
My son in law got 2 Blue ray dvd players...he couldn't get either one to work!...I don't think it is a mechanical problem.
He was so pissed! They have a hd tv that covers the wall..like a theater screen. He told me the bulb cost a couple thousand dollars!
I didn't ask what the TV cost.....
Snoozy..
i haven't been on this forum for several years, nothing personal.
the reason i am here is that i have been told that this forum is very active, and that is what i am looking for.. there was a case in the news here in washington state about a 14 year old boy that died due to his decision to refuse a blood transfusion.
this of course was the wishes of his aunt that gained guardianship over him due to his parents drug problems four years earlier.
Hi Elton..nice to see you posting here! This is an excellent board and I hope you stick around for a while..I remember you from Tim's board...
Snoozy...
ps..I remember a JW boy that was 14 that had an appendicitis attack..it ended up bursting and they were going to get a court order to give him blood. Well the parents took him out of the hospital and the witnesses got him a ticket to the JW hospital in Texas. He made it there OK and the operation was succesful.Without blood I might add..you know they were singing praises to Jehovah after that.
Well about a year later the kid went swimming with some other JW friends and drowned...I always thought that was so ironic..it still blows my mind to this day.
