I remember that, too. My mom was so proud when she heard that. It was also said that she stipulated that she would not initiate any fight scenes for the duration of her contract. She would only fight in self defense.

when i was growing up, i used to think that as long as they made fuzzy loving commercials (i.e.
the faygo one was my favorite & coke second) that the trib & big-a couldn't possibly come!!!
i also used to plan how i would hoard food & water in holes in my backyard that we wouldn't have to eat all the icky mice & insects my mom said we would have to live on.
I remember when I was a kid there was an illustration that was always used about the coming of Armaggedon being like a fork in the road. The brother would always say in a booming voice:
What path will YOU take...everlasting life or eternal destruction?
He also said something about having to chose between Jehoooovah and family and friends...what a difficult decision it would be for some to choose Jehovah, than the more popular (and crowded) route.
I made up in my mind right then and there, by gosh, that I would take the path with the least amount of traffic!

I, personally, would continue to shave my pits and pluck those chin hairs. However, in the winter, I have been known to let my leg hair grow long enough to braid!
BTW, I am FINE! (except for chewin' my cheek, facial hair, and little "thingies")

ok, here's my question.
how do you go from being a jw to being a whatever (methodist, lutheran, etc.
) i've been invited to go to many churches with friends, but, i have no desire to ever set foot in any church.

I chose a United Methodist Church because that where my family ties are (my Mom is the only JW in the family). And like Mike, I have a female pastor. It sometimes amazes me the perspectives I get from her on the Bible as opposed to what the dubs taught me! I am not afraid to go to her about something I don't understand/agree with. As for your son, you might want to look into churches that have very strong youth ministries that can provide for him spiritually ANDsocially. Depending on his age, a nursery is helpful for you as well!
