and you still won't budge.. the reason: mental and spiritual laziness.
It takes a tremendous amount of courage to even dare to think that you may disagree with the WTS, and then an even bigger effort to pick yourself up and get moving once you have decided that is not the kind of life you want to live. Not all have the courage and strength to do this, and too many have far too much pride to admit that maybe they are wrong.
Where I'm from the saying goes "the good get out."
What's left behind are zombies, empty shells of human beings. Sad.

i might ruffle some feathers here.
we know in high school there is always a seperation of the students to a point, in groups or clicks... like the nerds, the jocks, preps, stuck up types, popular/not popular, druggies, bullies, etc.
so after months of reading everyone here, i know there would be groups formed among all the members here, if we were to be put into a gathering situation.
There are cliques on JWD. Not as many as there used to be but some are still around.
if you saw a woman in public, and said woman was a complete stranger to you, would you feel it's appropriate to discuss it with her (if you're concerned she is in an abusive relationship)?
if you did, would it be appropriate to do it within earshot of others?
and if she offered you an explanation other than abuse, how would you proceed?
You must live in a very nice community if complete strangers are coming up to you like that.
Just tell them the name of your condition. It's a medical problem.
perhaps this is just a local issue, but i'd like to share this quick experience with you.. i, like i thought any person could have, had a close friend of the opposite sex.
now she and i were good friends before i even entered into a courtship with my ex-fiancee.
at first, she didn't like the idea of me having a female friend, but then she thought about it and said she had no problem with it, as long as certain boundaries were held......fair enough.
Within the context of the organization, the answer is clearly NO.

Even if you all had no other feelings for each other than just a wonderful friendship, the rumor mills would just not let up, wrecking everything and everyone in its path.
i have a new job now and take mass transit, the max train into town and then a short bus trip to work.
in between i have about 3 to 6 blocks to traverse, depending on what time it is and which bus i'm catching.
today i'm walking the last bit to my stop and watching the street for signs of the bus, and two women come walking up, at a good clip, and i can tell they are handing something out.
Don't you know you're not supposed to just reach out for whatever is being handed to you on the street? You're supposed to do what we do here in NY: jump in front of oncoming traffic just to avoid the flyers guy!
That is not new. It is the way JWs witness here. Before walking through train doors was prohibited, they used to get on the last subway car and hand out their tracts and magazines to everyone on each car, working their way through to the first car. If you got up and tried to leave into the next car, they would follow you. If you got off the train, they would still follow you.
we saw an elder the other night trying to convince a couple of kids that they were ready to be unbaptized publishers.
and then he went and added that he was baptized very young and they should too.
so, these two kids were feeling the pressure.

I feel so bad for the people who have to play the fading game because of family. Family is supposed to be unconditional, isnt it? Regretfully, the JW doctrine doesn't teach that.

a short time after baptism a young man i knew commited fornication but told the elders he didn't know it was a sin, he didn't have full knowledge when baptized.
his baptizm was voided and he had to study and be baptized again at a later date.
Yes this might be a real loophole. It happened to my cousin's husband. He was not DF but had his baptism nullified. I don't know the exact circumstances, but he apparently did something "indecent" while under the influence of alcohol. This all happened after they were married too. Eventually the marriage broke up and she ended up getting DF but not him as far as I know.
so can someone please enlighten me why when people come out with their catholicism others find it necessary to remind them of their pope worshipping, mary praying traditions (sic)?.

It's one of many among my list. That doesn't mean I exclusively do just for them.
In my church, this year there are 27 adults in RCIA that will be baptized, thats pretty good, back when I took my RCIA there were only 6 of us.
Holy crap! HA! When was the last time that anyone saw 27 adults being baptized at a circuit assembly? That just proves what a liar the WTS is!
