doubtless many of us have been to assemblies, and every may the km would come out with an insert about what you were expected to do and how to act.. reviewing the km's over the years , you can see the negative positve "councel".
how to dress, how to act, howt to tip!.
after reading this, doesn't it just want to make you run to attend the next d.c. ?

a question in the current written review asserts that "the loyalty that marks jehovah's organisation transcends every human relationship, such as that of close flesh-and-blood relatives.
" - question 35 .
note that loyalty that "transcends every human relationship" is not to god, but to the 'organisation'.
Ozzie and all,
Interesting.
And I'd like to add how developing the loyalty to the organization first begins.
JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ARE INSTRUCTED BY THIER "IMPERFECT HUMAN LEADERS" RIGHT FROM INITIAL CONTACT TO DIRECT ATTENTION TO THEMSELVES ( MEANING THE ORGANIZATION BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THE ORGANIZATION IS). So the door-to-door preaching that is done is NOT TEACHING AND DIRECTING PEOPLE TO CHRIST, AND NOT ABOUT THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS CLAIMED.
This really says what the message is that is instucted to be preached. It starts right from the day a JW shows up at your door. It happens so quickly that people don't realize what's happening to them and what their brain is being fed.
km 4/93 3-4
"To the House of Jehovah Let Us Go" (And the title if honest, should read: To The House of the Watchtower Soceity Let Us Direct Others)
3 Direct Interest to the Organization:From our initial contact with interested persons, we should be directing their attention to the organization. While we may be able personally to locate scriptures and explain fundamental doctrines, we are not the source of such knowledge . Everything we have learned has come from the organization, channeled through the slave class that supplies food at the proper time. (Matt. 24:45-47) From the start, new ones need to realize that pure worship involves more than just us or even the local congregation; there is an organized, theocratic, worldwide societyoperating under Jehovahs direction. 4 The direction we receive originates with Jehovah, who has promised to guide and teach us. (Ps. 32:8; Isa. 54:13) ....
So if the organized, theocratic, worldwide society is operating under God's direction, one would think that the instruction would be disseminated primarily through the Bible, right?
WRONG!
The article continues.....
" This instruction is disseminated primarily through our literature. If we can help interested ones develop a high regard for the literature, recognizing it as a source of lifesaving instruction , they will be far more likely to read and apply its message than to discard it quickly. "
There ya have it. They consider their own writings to be lifesaving. And instuct it's followers to go door-to door directing others to become loyal to it.
They go therefore making baptized publishers, baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and in association with their organization.

i am a catholic woman who is marrying a jw.....i have posted on this subject alone extensively on the adults and disagreements board so that is not really what i want to discuss here..question is about blood.. my daughter from a previous marriage is type a+ and her father lives 2 states away....now my fiance the jw has the same type blood as her as i do not..i am o+ .....so can a jw donate blood in case of emergency?.
can a jw give blood for testing.....in case of illness or whatever?.
AlanF,
what about autologous whole blood, to be used later as whole blood?
Still a no no.
Wasn't it stated that autologous whole blood was accepted by JWs on the blood cards that were published and then taken back before they were distributed to JWs because of the date on them a year ago or so?

hi Jaina,
I'd love to say more ,but it has nothing to do with your serious question. Only about your relationship with a JW.
So, please go here and read and pay attention to what AlanF said. This serious subject seems to be somewhat of a secret unless you call the right people in the JW organization. So keep in mind what he said and find and keep the right phone numbers of the people who can give you the life saving advice your might someday need. Keep it by your phone as you would the police and fire department. And give you JW mate the number once you dig and find it. Seems like this subject is not priority enough for the organizational higher-ups to make this information repetative study articles such as they do with the subject of pioneering for the Watchtower INC printing business.

first, i'd like to thank everyone here that has befriended me for your kindness and support.
having you to talk to after leaving the org made the shunning of everyone i ever knew and family much more bearable.
i initially came here for emotional support due to shunning and also to have questions regarding doctrine answered, which has been accomplished.
Lin,
I have read your posts and have read your experiences. Any time certain people say goodbye who I bonded to and might not say that to them, I feel a sense of sadness, combined with gladness that they are able to move on. You are one of those people. I never seem to tell them till they say goodbye! I don't know why i'm like that but that's just the way it is. Not that I like that about myself. { must be the curse on the Pisces! }
As for me, I've been here for going on 3 years and I don't think I'll say goodbye here till the day Simon and Angarad close down if they ever do because I have such an emotional bond to people here. So in that way, i know I'll never move on untill I'm actually forced to. I take breaks from posting, but barely ever do reading and trying to catch up.
I wish only the best for you and have only well thoughts all around going you way.
Take care!
peace to you,
gwen......who has a hard time with good-byes.

ChrisV,

am i too thin-skinned or does anyone find that annual km insert dealing with the district assembly offensive???.
i mean, having to read and comment on those same things every year about not cooking in your hotel room, not to steal food if breakfast is offered, not to poop in the sinks, or whatever they say.
if you have to give those "reminders," it makes you wonder about the people you are sitting next to during the sessions.. *****rub a dub
Hi RubaDub, LOL! that's agreat name!
I just love it when I read things such as this in the KMs:
In the 5/99 Kingdom Ministry:
"Some of the food vendors in the convention facilities being used are now demanding that they be allowed to open their food stands and serve the delegates attending our conventions. If this were permitted, many worldly people would be mixing in company with us during the day."
Because we all know that the KMs are published and given to "insiders" who are JWs.
Then I turn around and read things such as this in
The Greatest man Whoever Lived book , in chapter 85
" The Pharisees and scribes treat common people like dirt under their feet. In fact, they use the hebrew expression `am haa'rets, "people of the land [earth]," to show the disdain they have for such ones. On the other hand, Jesus treats everyone with dignity, kindness, and compassion."
It could very well be said that...
The Jehovah's Witnesses treat common people like dirt under their feet. In fact, they use the expression "worldy", which is a synonym for the word "earthly",to show the disdain they have for such ones. On the other hand, Jesus treats everyone with dignity, kindness, and compassion.
In my opinion, the Watchtower INC printing factory teach it's followers to be Phariseelike. Not Chrsitlike.
