dogpatchs' post on the u.k.s df'd or da form reminded me of a conversation i had with a sister about 6 months ago who still works in bethel.. she work in the section where the wt makes copies of videos and tapes.. she was called to see the supervisor in of of the computer data entry sections (im sorry but i don't know the exact title of these jobs or "wings"), she had tried to get into that field due to her vast experience in computer networking before marrying a bethelite.. well she said that she walked into the offices only to be told that the sup.

It's very typical for the society to teach and imitate not Jesus, but the Pharisees. By doing what they do and treating fellow humans the way they do ( disfellowshipping/handing others over to satan), they continue to ignore the new covenant that God gave to us FREE. They also ignore Hebrews 8:12

Christ's blood paid the price for our sins and repentence to Jesus is just not good enough for the wbts. They insist on judging and condeming instead. Then they even go farther by making followers/members/society worshippers actually apply in writing for forgiveness/reinstatement. I wonder what scriptual backing they have for that?

after I saw your post, I watched it too. If I remember correctly, arranged marriages were for some who were 14 yrs old, becausethe age limit to get married in Georgia is 16. I could be wrong, so if anyone else watched it, jump in. And the reason for it was to not take the chance of having children born out of wedlock.

it was a very hard show to watch. the beatings some CHILDREN endured in front of the whole congregation must have been so terrible that I can't even imagine the pain. they were beat with belts or swithes till blood was drawn. and the members insisted that it was just discipline. it was downright cruelty to children. it made me sick to know that this still goes on.

on the other side of the coin, I did think that the state people who took the children away from their homes, used exessive force. there must have been a better way so as not to scare the crap out of all those kids. It's hard to draw a line, but the most important thing was the safety of the children, and that's why they removed them from the homes till it was all investigated.

thank you again for posting that the show was airing. I would have missed it otherwise.

editing t add this: did you catch the parents of the ex-member who was 16 when she recieved a beating so bad that she passed out? and the parents said that she was nothing but trouble since she was born ( or a very young child)? I'd e-mail her if I could. my heart broke for her. can you imagine how she felt watching the show tonight with her parents saying that? I think it was her mother who said that about her, and her dad agreed. what a crying shame.

That is the most important question, isn't it?

I don't see that one can "believe in the cross", "believe in the trinity", or "believe in hell". that's the same as saying one "believes in never dying" we'd all "believe in that" if it were reality and true. afterall..who wants to go to hell? who wants to die? who wants to be nailed onto crossbeams?

And those who believe in God , believe that God is God.

we are accused of being "postdates"

this was so funny!!!

a friend of mine is involved in a bitter divorce, custody, visitation situation, for a close relative of hers.

she got a copy of the long, involved court report, and in that report, we are mentioned as being "postdates" of jw's, which means "that they talk bad about other witnesses, sort of like being the control of satan.

That would have given me a good laugh too! postdates sounds like it could lead to premarital loose conduct. And maybe that would fall uner being guilty or porneia? Either way, reproof would be in order! Watchtowely speaking that is.
