It’s shame because the old midweek meeting was east but this new format takes a lot more effort
it’s confusing
has anyone else tried to go through the notes?
just watched november broadcast very different order to the leaked agm .
be good if someone did a deep dive on the difference and why the changes?
i didn’t time the items but it should be easy to see if edited?.

uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.
So could someone really take someone else to court if they said something not nice about someone else? Yes this is as ridiculous as it sounds.
Lets take the hypothetical situation that Lloyd never actually visited sex workers regularly and never admitted to that, then someone accused them of this very thing.
Could there actually be a court case where there is a trail to see if the accusations are true? If the person never saw sex workers what is the actual crime? Defamation? Then what?
this is playground stuff
even elders can be part of the new jw lite brigade these days.
they don’t need to go on door to door anymore and there is no requirement for anything really.. taking meeting parts is all dead easy you could turn up on the day with zero preparation because it’s all in the meeting workbook.. quarterly elders meetings are just old men having a good old natter just like old men do down the pub.. congregations could be likened to pubs or bars these days just without the drinks, those come at other times.. no need for territory maps, these almost went away with covid letter writing now they are extremely slow getting finished as those who still go door to door only do ten mins.. you could even voice your questions these days about things the gb say and then just say “we can’t be dogmatic we just don’t know”.
i predict they will say this about 1914 soon..
Yes JWLITE is quiet quitting. You can now make your own rules. Think for yourself. Tell yourself the story you choose to believe.
You could fade away but keep friends that you want to keep and if like me and my wife you still choose to go to associate occasionally then that’s all part of JWLITE.
Its the best of both worlds being in and being out

Tonus, yes Pascal’s wager is just a good philosophical thing to think about deeply. Then use it or adjust it to suit you.
It makes me think about taking it further. I can’t say for absolutely certain that the origin of the universe was not from intelligent design. So I will love my life as if that intelligent design had something to do with the Bible. Even if not to live by the Bible is very beneficial in my opinion.
I love this new JWLITE idea that is being talked about everywhere since the AGM. I don’t know know who came up with it originally but I love it, and just like Pascal’s wager the JWLITE wager is something to think deeply about. Then use it or adjust it to suit you.

Here is one option of a belief system that suits me. This is a JWLITE version of Pascal’s wager.
Stay physically in the JWs to the extent of going to meetings and assembly’s/conventions when it suits, maybe give answers/items occasionally but not putting too much effort into them. Half the time on zoom in your slippers and PJs with a nice cuppa.
Going in ministry groups mainly zoom only for the social aspect, really it’s just a social meet up and good old gossip never really written letters and everyone knows this. Only very occasionally in person ministry groups at the hall or someone’s home, but never going on door to door work. Just say you are going to do ‘calls’ or street/park witnessing but never actually do any of that. Then meet up for coffee breaks. Make the most of all gatherings and be very zealous at visiting members of the congregation.
This is the best part being in a close knit community. Really great folks who you can trust to always be there for you in times of need. Everyone in JWs are so kind and generous and always have the best gatherings and hospitality.
Make it look like you are at the heart of the congregation and be very involved with everyone as this is the only good part of staying physically in.
Mentally live as pascals wager but a JWLITE version according to the latest AGM. Live how you want as it really doesn’t matter according to the latest AGM. If the JWs turn out to be right you can repent last min.
The advantage to this approach is the placebo affect compared to being an atheist. With at least a tiny amount of faith Jesus said the size of a mustard seed you could move a mountain.
So keeping one foot in and one foot out the get the best of both worlds.
When you analyse someone with faith in God particularly the JWs they do have this placebo affect where they don’t worry so much and can cope with illness even short life expectancy diagnosis.
Yes I can have this placebo affect even though it may not be true I can hope that it is.
if and when you deposit the check from me in your own bank--what happens to my actual personal wealth?.
2.what happens to my ability to use my entire personal wealth?
so, how do we answer the question of what happens to you when you die?.

Yes it all comes down to interpretation. All this new light we keep get is just changing interpretations of this ancient book that the truth is we don’t really understand.
I just watched this entire video which I thought was brilliant and any who have been JWs for a long time will relate. https://youtu.be/5wjy8ETRvho?feature=shared
It seems the new JW light at every AGM is slowly becoming JWLITE anyway if you see what I mean. JWs are becoming dumber or another way to say it is they don’t seek to think about the interpretation of scripture at all, they just go along with what the GB say even if it makes No sense!
An interesting observation in this video that this is the first time the GB have used the term new light as it was only the ex JWs who used that term

Inserted a new point directing that it is the responsibility of the body of elders to decide if a funeral for a publisher who committed suicide may be held at the Kingdom Hall.
Wow.
I remember a middle aged sister who killed herself and her funeral was at the hall. She left a couple of kids. The spoke of the resurrection hope

ExB the beauty of JWLITE after this month’s broadcast AGM is who can take what you like and leave what you don’t like. You can repent last min if JWs are even slightly correct about their interpretation of the Bible.
Yes you can cheat your tax returns and do shoplifting as you say, I’m sure if you do those things you will be doing a lot of other things that are morally wrong and illegal.
JWlite means you can hide all these things and even if you did get found out about just say your sorry
women make up the main population of the kingdom halls, and the pool of young males willing to step up to "serve" is drying up.
what is the likelihood of "new light" on jw women in ministry roles formerly held only by males?.
It’s already happening. Sisters doing microphone and sound.
The big change was in the OD book only baptised brother or sister can do these things. They thought this would get more to get baptised but it didn’t work.
the order is first baptised brothers but if there are not enough then baptised sisters. If there are not enough baptised sisters then unbaptised brothers can but it’s rare that there are not enough baptised sisters.
Most young ones brought up by parents in the congregation just don’t want to get baptised when they understand what there have to lose if they don’t follow the rules. Once hormones kick in they certainly don’t want to get baptised
