for anyone who's ever written something of a private nature or asked clarification on certain beliefs have you ever had the unfortunate experience of the elders calling you in the back room or a sheperding call ?.
the reason i bring this out is that newer brothers or sisters don't know that everytime you write the society the society sends a copy of your letter to your local cong.
elders.
Friend,
How do you know this? Do you work at bethel? I have to tell you that every single time that I have sent a letter to the society my local cong. elders have received a copy and the content of my letters were very polite and had nothing to do about any questioning of doctrines. I think you are mistaken in thinking that it would put extra effort on the brothers to do this for the simple fact that they have state of the art photocopiers.
You also have to keep in mind that your local cong. elders don't always tell you that they have received correspondence from the society concerning you.
considering the latest questions from readers article on blood transfusion, i was wondering what the feelings are among this forums participants about blood transfusion.
over the years the society has been receiving a growing amount of letters on the subject of blood and blood transfusion.
any interesting biblical perspectives here about whether "abstain from blood" means abstain from blood transfusion?
Friend,
I still maintain that when the Bible say's to abstain from blood this is exactly what it means. Blood is sacred, and I personally think it is a mistake from the society to allow even blood fractions.
I also understand that it is easy to say no blood, but when faced with the reality of an emergency, it becomes a real test of faith.
One must also keep in mind that Jehovah God has laws in place as a test of obedience, such as was with the tree of knowledge of good and bad.
Humans may justify almost anything but it does not necessarily make it right in the eyes of God who's laws a christian would want to obey.
i just wanted to introduce myself.
i grew up as a witness in the 50's but found that there were to many issues that i could not resolve without going "outside" to investigate.
i have never returned and have no desire to, however, about two years ago i discovered h20 and have been participating there every since.
Carmel,
Welcome and Shalom my friend!
...attain unanimous support from his creation of free moral agents?
from the majority at least.. apparently according to the wt interpretation of god's own book...a prominent spirit creature who made himself satan became unsatisfied and left god.later untold numbers would join the devil.. now the only solution for the future of these 'rebels' would be for god to destroy them.. then the very first human creatures apparently also felt unsatisfied and withdrew from god.they got destroyed.. later god had to confuse the language of all humans because they were unanimously opposed to god.
those people too are history.. then god had an ark built because all flesh had left god's way except for a handful of people.. evidently god was not expecting any great number to actually join noah, otherwise god would have had noah build several arks!
Frenchy,
I thought he was talking about all of God's servants in heaven or on the earth.

Martini,
We as humans don't have an exact count of all the spirit creatures in the heavens that stayed faithful to Jehovah, furthermore raise your eyes high up in the sky and see the stars and if you had a powerful telescope you would probably see some galaxies. In those galaxies you would probably find solar systems like ours. Wether some of these solar systems are inhabited our not we have not been told by our creator directly but one can only imagine that if Jehovah God has promised eternal life to those who love Him, I'm sure He has plans to keep them busy.
It would be presumptuous to conclude that God does not have the majority of his servants as faithful and loyal.
ask dr. laura.
dear dr. laura, thank you for doing so much to educate people.
regarding god's law.
Excellent replies Dr. Frenchy.
women don't like,.
#1 unclipped hair protuding out of your nose and ears.. #2 showing up at the restaurant without reservations.. #3 using her money to buy a gift.. #4 asking her daughter out if it doesn't work out.. #5 watching the football game while she says:"we have to talk!".
#6 being a couch potato on your days off.. #7 never, never say she's fat even if she is.
Seven,
In reply to:"When he gets upset when I call him by another man's name."
Uhhh??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
a few months ago during the elders' meeting with the c.o.
i could not help but express myself to him when the subject of meeting attendance came up.
now this is a nice guy as far as c.o.
The last moving talk that I heard was from one of our district overseer at a circuit assembly. He encouraged the youth's not to leave the truth using all the experiences that his many years of knowledge brought traveling the district. In fact his talk was so moving that many a tears were shed in the audience that day and forever recounted .
While on the platform the district overseer shed tears himself recounting on how many youth's were forsaking Jehovah for the world and bringing many problems for themselves, their families and the cong.
After giving this magnificent talk full of encouragement and self help analyses, the poor sap got caught sleeping around with a pioneer sister a short while later. He was disfellowshipped along with the pioneer sister and moved in with her. He dumped his wife of many years and the gossip spread like wild fire. All who knew him felt a tremendous let down from one circuit to circuit.
So getting back to the question:"What has happened to us?"
Answer= Let's not be big hypocrites, people are not stupid they catch on sooner or later. So this means we as an organization have a lot to learn. from projecting a holier than thou attitude.
dear redhorsewoman,.
here's a poem for you.. .
redhorsewoman riding high,.
Dear RedHorseWoman,
Here's a poem for you.
RedHorseWoman riding high,
Feeling free, feeling pride,
RedHorseWoman on a sunset beach,
Feeling good, out of reach,
You might be married, golly geez,
Your heart shines forth,
Everybody take heed,
RedHorseWoman knows the course,
We all lust because we must,
Men would love your love,
Because you are worthy of our trust,
Men would love your love,
Because you are just,
RedHorseWoman riding high,
RedHorseWoman feeling pride,
RedHorseWoman we love you,
RedHorseWoman believe it, because it's true.
