  Bible Error: The Visit to the Tomb

  the following two accounts of the morning visit by the women to anoint jesus body are contradictory.

  according to mark, the women wondered how they would remove the stone covering the tomb, but they found that it had already been rolled away.

  matthew, however, says that when the women went to the tomb, there was an earthquake, and an angel came down from heaven, went to the tomb, and rolled the stone back.

  From you numerous postings attempting to portray the Jesus as a myth predominantly by asserting that the Gospels are nothing more than fabrications by four storytellers...

  The end result of your assertions, especially those included on your website, attempt ultimately to dismiss the predominant religion of western civilization, namely Christianity, as a falicy.

  Now, it results from such reasoning that there are primary four ideologies a man can possess:

  1. Jesus is real, I believe
  2. Jesus is real, I don't believe
  3. Jesus isn't real, I believe
  4. Jesus isn't real, I don't believe

  Ultimately, you have no other possibility than to select one of the above and live your life as such!

  Only two of the above, however, apply to a Christian, a believer of Jesus, namely #1 and #3.

  Now, all your agruements I've read thus far classifies Christians as according to #3 and only #3 (saying Jesus isn't real, yet multitudes believe).

  Are you so blind you cannot see YOUR arguement STARTS as a falicy; namely, you can not prove Jesus is not real.

  If it is possible that Jesus is real, then it is also possible the four Gospels are truth, and hence the entire Bible may be truth.

  So, everything you write is no different from that which is contained in the Bible; namely, either position requires faith in an impossible.

  Such is the world we live...

  I was recently reading a thread on Deja (Google Groups) in regards to historical proof of Jesus. I found this statement inquisitve:

  impoverished wandering Jew, preaching a prophetic message of equal
  access to God and complete equality, and whose ministry lasted maybe
  three years, sufficiently to write about him?

  I've read many threads arguing for and against proof of Christ, yet never one which read as above. Call it enlightening!

  Perhaps that IS the reason for few historical references to Jesus. But, more importantly, is it not amazing (perhaps divine) that the above ministry has literally affected millions if not billions throughout the ages?

  Yet even more amazing is the fact the Bible (OT) foretold such would be His ministry!

  What is the chance ??? Amen...

  But that is besides MY point!

  Ron Howard, at the end of the movie, sent a message (one which I find to be quite true based on personal experience!)

  perhaps you missed my inclusion of the term 'virtuous religion' in the same reply?

  I believe I did acknowledge the validity of your concern?

  there are many religions (to these I include atheists and agnostics) that desire virtues and peace

  but I believe you're going beyond and contemplating on those religions, etc. that distort basic virtues and preach what is evil is good

  this is a concern in our day and age on the magnitude of a global Holy War, one I pray my children will never encounter!

  if you, in fact, KILL me over your religious beliefs, then you have in fact forced your belief upon me; and YES, I agree that such a criminalistic mindset and civilized depravity needs to be outlawed!

  What a great movie! (a somewhat true story of the life of John Forbes Nash, Mathematician, Princeton)

  Not wishing to reveal the content, I can only say the final remark by Nash saying "I am here because of love" is so true...

  Of all human aptitudes, only love transfixes the horizons.

  Thank you Ron Howard and Russell Crowe for such a remarkable movie that has personal significance!

  like I said, if someone takes the responsibility of God upon their shoulders and say "you shall burn in Hell", I would even rebuke 'em!

  they are, in fact, forcing their beliefs upon you.

  I surely cannot be the first to tell you that in 2000yrs, PEOPLE have grossly distorted the teachings of Christ.

  Christ never forced, but spoke - and people listened (by free will).

  when you say "express it" are you saying via some perverted group of Christians such as JWs?

  I, myself, will not condemn you

  I would never say to your face "you shall burn in Hell"

  then, I suppose, I would be just like those whom I just spoke of (for such was the thinking of our American forefathers and Hitler, etc.)

  in MY religion, it is the responsibility of God to judge.

  whomever takes that responsibility upon themselves is really someone to be afraid (mentally thinking)

  religion involves people.

  and, unfortunately, people just like gravedancer.

  so, is religion somewhat crappy? the answer is hell yeah.

  but it is the PEOPLE, not religion, who force their beliefs upon others.

  in the case of history, such practice has resulted in some of the most deplorable of events ever imaginable.

  what our American forefathers did to the native Indians was deplorable; what Hitler did to the Jews was deplorable

  the list is endless!

  but it is all about PEOPLE; virtuous religion, in-and-of-itself, is pure.

  the arguement of mind control is also invalid; from life to death, no matter your religion, you are in some shape or form indoctrinated in a certain humanistic belief structure. there is no escaping this reality. only the insane can do so...

  gravedancer - you are part of the problem of the world.

  if we could all just respect everyones personal beliefs, the world would find peace.

  religion does not cause war, hatred, etc. - it is people like you who think you 'know it all' and attempt to forcefully broadcast your shallow ideology upon others.

  respect my beliefs and I will respect yours.

  provoke me and (in my case) I will defend the cross.
