I've only seen one talk on blood, and it was exactly as you described. There was a member of the liason committee there who gave the talk, and I believe the circuit overseer was present as well. That was quite some time ago though...at least 6 years ago.

ANOINTED Jehovah Witness has no doubt,

i am an active jehovah witness, but i am very lonely so i am looking for others with the "hope" or to speak to those that know someone that does.

But it was at a memorial before my baptism that my life changed. I saw a sister in her 40's partake, and was astounded. I thought there were hardly anymore heavenly hopes, and she wasn't very old. She was and active and good sister. I finaly realized that I never had the earthly hope.

lotus: are you aware of the high improbability that you are actually of the "anointed" (if there is such a thing)? I think you have a better chance of being struck by lightning 5 times. Are you aware of how many people there are today claiming to be of the "anointed"? I know of two in one hall alone, both around their 50s, and both of them have mental problems.

The Assembly Seating Status Shuffle
by joelbear inthis phenomenon occurred mostly when i was a teenager and young adult.. typically it centered around one popular group of kids and their parents, kids were never allowed to sit in groups by themselves, at least, not for long.. so, everybody tries to get seated next to the people they want to sit near, usually an amalgamation of trying to get next to girls or guys you are interested in, mixed with some jw social climbing etc.
having a seat saved for you with a popular family was a big coup.
did this go on with your social groups and the assemblies you attended?.

i think an even better topic is how people act right after the doors open to conventions. People will lie to you, push you...anything to get some seats close to the front! It's nuts!

I am unlike other men

i learn differently.
i am odd, very eccentric sense of humor.. i have decided that instead of trying to get one doctorate degree that i am going to try and get several bachelors degrees in different areas of interest.. i like too many things to concentrate on one subject.. i have worked at the same type of job for the last 20 years and have never been happy.

it makes perfect sense. when I work on one area of study for too long, it starts to bore me. I like learning about all sorts of different things, even though I know that I won't be the best at any one of them. There's lots of advantages to being a "jack of all trades".

i'm intrigued by the comments made regarding the recent release of his dissertations, and can't help but adimre him for the nobility of his intent.
it seems to me he's a victim of the delusion that the beliefs of jws are intellectually defensible and can withstand the test of empiricism and hard, objective scrutiny.. i can't help but wonder how he's regarded by his peers in the local congregation, the local elders ad circuit overseer whether he holds any jw office (elder, ministerial servant, etc), whether he gives lectures, parts on the meeting, etc.

very good suggestions dungbeetle. I'll try to use some of those myself. Lizardsnot also makes a good point that everyone who has read the book has seen...Franz definitely does stick to facts and doesn't try to make any mean jabs and the GB (like not mentioning that one of the GB members "stepped down" after it was known (or rumored to be known) that he was a pedophile).

I'm in chapter 4 of COC already...one of the main things that stuck out was that someone in the writing department must have read Franz's book (there probably were many more) because he showed a picture of the early bethelites having christmas dinner. His book was released in 1983 with the picture, never before released by the borg, and then since a lot of people saw it, the borg put it into the proclaimers book and watered the whole thing down. What a joke!
