President Bush's speech

i wanted to hear the president's speech tonight, but can't stand listening to the man.

he has a prepared speech but he keeps saying nuc-you-lar instead of nuc-le-ar.

i can't stand it.. you would think his people would walk him through correct pronunciation.

i would really value your comments, suggestions, and ideas.

I am thinking of sending in a letter to the editor of our local paper here in Oregon. I would really value your comments, suggestions, and ideas. Please read what I have and respond constructively.

Thank you for your coverage of the Bryant and Longo family murders, the Bimla Boyd case, and the child abuse lawsuit in Corvallis. All of the local stories have one thing in common -- Jehovah's Witnesses. They were all members or ex-members subjected to the bizarre church policies involving shunning, covering up child abuse, and other cult-like practices.
There are support groups that will accept without judgment those struggling with these issues. They can help you adjust your thinking to that of normal people. They can help you deprogram and start thinking for yourself. It is far better solution than to violently kill innocent family members to send them to a better place.

What do you think? Suggestions anyone? I want to send this in soon, so please post your observations.

my surgery (hysterectomy) is scheduled for this friday and i'm getting really nervous.........nervous that the cancer may have spread, nervous about the pain, nervous about what i'm going to go through mentally, physically and emotionally afterwards (i guess i'll be going through the change of life real quick).

i've done pretty good so far: am trying to keep positive, eating right, exercising (i've lost 15 lbs!

), meditating, and i'm going on tuesday to someone who does reiki (i think that's how you spell it).

Who were the apostates I once saw?

there was talk the other day of "modern day apostates" which made me think back to the pre-internet days at conventions where we used to get leaflets sprung on us by what i then presumed to be apostates.

who are the apostates of the 80s and 90s who used to spring leaflets on us?

are they now on the net with us modern day apostates?

I agree with jjrizo that the Internet and technology is our best tool. The Watchtower is not fairing well in the information age. Their numbers are down in countries that are at the forefront in information technology. It's a lot harder to hide the truth from your members when it pops up on new websites each and every day. Thus the WTBTS keeps continuing its admonition that it's members not use the Internet. The two part Service Meetings aren't working, however. We keep getting new people to this site alone almost daily.

Only in 49 of the 50 US states. In Vermont there can be a civil union.

Oh, do you mean a white person and a black person of a different sex or the same sex? The question never specified.

It's interesting how a hundred years ago, even fifty years ago, the same reasons against interacial marriage were given as same sex marriages today.

Just a thought.

another first for eyegirl and I........

as many of you know, eyegirl and i are sisters.

we also have a brother (no longer dub) who lives a few hours away from us.

today eye and i (love saying that) are making a road trip to our brother's to help celebrate his 30th birthday-this being the first party that all three of us will be at together celebrating one of our bdays.
