I'm very happy for them! It isn't easy for anyone to leave, so I'm basically happy for anyone who makes it out, whether they are an elder, pioneer, or just a lowly peon publisher.

do you think that if a person was an elder that when he comes on these boards, he still thinks and acts like an elder??
?

So is Morrowind a good RPG? I haven't ever tried it.

I play way too much, I think as a way of escape from the realities of my difficult life. I mainly play strategy, sims (simulation), and role playing games.
My favorites are (in no particular order)
I know I'm forgetting some.
I finally get to play Dungeons & Dragons without anyone telling me how demonic it is and how it will take over my mind. And in spite of Joe Lieberman, I've never gone postal and killed anyone after playing a game. When I play, however, I like to stay in character as much as possible. I have some handicaps to overcome in that I totally don't understand half of the rules, having been forbidden to play when I was a dub. For example, I don't understand how Armour Class is figured, so to figure out if I should keep a piece of armor or not, I compare the sale price with another piece at a mercantile. Sounds pathetic, I know, but it works. I love playing wizards and sorcerers the best.
I play alone. I've never ventured into multi-player mode or MMO's.

just wondering if anyone else has had thoughts like this.
eve was deceived into eating the fruit.
an act that constituted a rebellion against god.
I have often wondered the same thing.

ive been on the net ever since the miningco, old witnesses.net days and now here on jwd.
it has been an interesting journey.
yesterday my life took a new turn.
I hope I have not offended anyone.
Congratulations on finally figuring it out and coming to that point of self awareness and self acceptance. Eventually you will realize that you need not apologize to anyone, but it will probably take a little more time to get to that level of self acceptance.
There are many groups that you and your wife can join to help you deal with the issues surrounding the coming out process. PFLAG is one that is especially good for helping your family work things out. There you will meet many families who went through the same experiences.
The best of luck to you and your family.
Warm regards,
Tammy
i'm a nursing student and i have to do an essay.
the case study i'm doing is of an elderly gentleman who is a jehovahs witness and i'm wondering if any of you can tell me besides refusing a blood transfusion, if there is any other beliefs that would affect medical care?
i'm not a jehovahs witness but would be very interested to hear your comments and thank you in advance!
Also, they may not be up to date with the childhood vaccinations most people take for granted. For many years Jehovah's Witnesses did not give their children inoculations to certain diseases (I believe smallpox was one), although they pretty much ignore this prohibition with their children now. As a result, many of their older generation do not even know which vaccines they had or didn't have as a child.

i saw this in the news paper today.
busted a gut laughing.. reuters.. washington (reuters) - the white house was bombarded with questions on monday about why it failed to go public with news that vice president dick cheney shot a fellow quail hunter until the day after the accident.. the victim, harry whittington, 78, took pellets in his cheek, neck and chest when cheney fired his shotgun while aiming for a bird during a hunt in southern texas on saturday, and was in stable condition at a corpus christi hospital.. whittington was moved out of intensive care on monday afternoon but peter banko, administrator of christus spohn hospital, said he did not know when he would be discharged.. "his condition continues to be stable ... it's not critical, it's not serious.
he's in stable condition, doing extremely well," banko said.. the accident happened about 5:30 p.m. on a private ranch about 200 miles south of san antonio, where the vice president has hunted previously.
This story just won't end. Now the poor guy had a heart attack due to birdshot in his heart!
Wouldn't it be ironic if Cheney went to prison for manslaughter?
I actually feel sorry for the guy who was shot. They blame him for not announcing himself. Not Cheney, who should have been looking where he was shooting. I thought you were supposed to keep quiet so as not to scare the game prematurely. And watch the line of fire. No, apparently that protocol isn't as important as announcing yourself.

what is your favorite fictional literary character.
which character do you identify with most?
i was a well-read kid and my favorite series of books were the elric saga by michael moorcock.
Daystar;
The character Karl in Michael Moorcock's Behold the Man was rather thought provoking also in the same kind of way.

Gosh! It is so hard to pick just one. Its narrowed down now to:
So many of them influenced my life.
But the greatest influence would have to have been Valentine Michael Smith (Stranger in a Strange Land). He made me question the very foundations of my faith. Sci-fi is such a great genre, because it leads to so much questioning. Questioning leads to self awareness. Self awareness leads to freedom.

thanks princess for helping us remember ari's screen name.. the "sad news from maui" thread is here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/107021/1.ashx
I am so saddened to hear this. I haven't been here for a while due to a deep depression, and then I come back to find this news about Puternut. We had some nice conversations. I know he was going through a very difficult time due to his estrangement from his family, especially his daughters. I had wished him only the best with his move to Maui.
A person wonders what more they might have done to help prevent it. What can you do to keep it from happening again? You feel so inadequate in the face of such pain.
You wonder what you can do to prevent it from happening to yourself, the next time the long shadow dims the world and the lucid thoughts dance like light beams just out of your mental reach, with only irrational nonsensical ideas close enough to cling to.
Aeternum vale Puternut.
