i have been searching the net for some excellent sites on the masons.
this past weekend we went down to nc for a wedding and my wife and i broke the news to our nonjw family that we were no longer involved with jw.
i could not believe the open arm welcome my uncle and aunt were almost in tears- they told us we have seen you come home each yr from the main office in ny and then you got married and you would come home and we wanted to say something about the jw but you seemed to be so well respected by the local jw - whenever we would tell folks that our newphew was up in ny- the jw would get all excited- they told us they thought it was so sad for i only made $90 a month.
My grandfather,uncle etc. are involved in Masons. The higher up the order the weider it gets. Let's say they have rituals that little girls are involved in. It has put me in therapy for years. I don't have the time of day for them. I would run the other way. It scares the hell out of me.

One time at the memorial talk, the brother giving the discourse was so nervous he kept burping with every word. We were sitting in the second school where the attendant kept turning the sound up. He wore hearing aides but must not been working. The burping sounds blasted our ears. Another brother would turn the sound down and the attendant would come in and turn it up. This went back and forth all through the talk. Finally the brother told the attendant in not so nice words to not touch the volume switch again. To add to the night, a young girl in front of us about 13, who was studying had brought her worldly friends along for support. She tells them not to take the emblems. One friend remarked that it was only grape juice and the girl studying said"Not here it is wine". And the friend said that"s all the better. But when the wine was past the girls had went to the bathroom. That was the last memorial we attended.

reading some posts tonite made me think of some advice i was given by a ms one day.. at the kh one sunday, i had genuinely asked brother g. how he was feeling.
i knew he had health problems and could see he was kind of uncomfortable.
he replied that his blood pressure had been high, and he was feeling the effects of it.. he then went on to explain that he rarely goes into detail because most brothers and sisters dont want to hear a persons problems.
I could not agree more. JW's are so robotic. They are not human enough to have a kind caring heart. I told this to a sister who said that if we talked to everyone for 2 minutes before or after the meeting to find out how you are, you wouldn't get out in field service. Duh.

Having personal experience with 12 step people. I find addictive personalities can go to far in anything. I find 12 step programs spiritual in nature but not religious. There are even Atheists and agnostics 12 step groups. So a higher power is whatever you make it. Alcoholism and drug addictions kill. I would rather see a person involved in 12 step programs than go to their funeral.

Right now we are trying to fade away. When ones are DFed my son tells me. I have to ask who the hell they are. So if I got DF, I would send a 8x10 picture of me and a dozen red roses because nobody gives a pooppppppppppppp.

let's discuss solutions for a second regarding the pedophile issues.. how do you feel the society should handle things?.
should the society be entitled to 'ecclesiatic privilege' as are other religions?.
should such a loophole be allowed when it involves protecting children?.
These are good questions. Why not turn all the cases over to the proper secular authorities. The congregation should make it known to all about the convicted pedophile when the laws say he is a sex offender. He should have no privileges from the time he is accused to being one. I don't believe in D'Fing but who is going to hang with a sex offender? The elders and the congregation should be responsible for the medical treatment and psych bills for the victim. They have enough money to send to the Society , they can start taking care of their children.

I believe women and children have it tough. Thousands of women and children are forced into the sex trade every year in the United States. Estimates of the number of women and children smuggled into the United States run as high as 50,000 a year and many are forced into the sex industry. Think of all the female child porno. Poverty women have to live in. I think men are out to genocide women. It has been all down hill since Eve.
call me a neopositivist, a semi-verificationist or semi-falsificationist, but the claims made by "silentlambs" reminds me of the shakespearean line that was quoted in the creator book published by the wtbts.
that is, the contentions of silentlambs seem like much "sound and fury" that in truth signify nothing.
i am of course referring to the supposed dateline show and the claims made about some members of the gb of jehovah's witnesses.
Just because you personally haven't experienced sexual child abuse, doesn't mean it hasn't happened or men in high positions can't be part of it. I am a victim of child sexual abuse, but from a worldly family and men in worldly organizations. I think of the abuse daily. When I became a JW,I was very naive that abuse was happening. We had a CO elder when making up car groups would choose a young sister around 8 to go with him alone. Did this in every congregation. Why? I voiced an objection and told to myob. I asked a regular pioneer ms brother to study with my boys. He was already studying with 6 boys, so could not. He moved and married a sister who had 2 children. They had a son. When I meet this sister she divorced him because he was having regular sex with the sons,2and8. Two years ago I'm sitting at the district convention when the sister next to me tells about her daughters have been molested by a ms brother in the congregation..I moved for the afternoon sesssions and a different sister tells me about her daughter molested by an elder. At the time I had no advice to give thinking it was wrong to have the world find out about these matters. Now I say tell,tell,tell and shoot to kill, shoot to kill those bastards who do this and those who cover it up.

I would like to go to heaven and be a little angel. But to tell the truth life has been hell so far. So why not be realistic, die and be a demon in hell. At least I'll have company. Maybe I can make someone else's life hell.
