My Grandmother talked to me secretly about Jehovah when I was a todler. She was a JW secretly all her life. I grew up loving HIM,
and the doctrines of the the Society were always secondary. Many
leave the org. because they don't agree with the teachings. I stayed
in because God is perfect, man is not. WE all "grope" to find God, even the Society. I just hope they continue to have an open mind, and keep searching for new things learned.

by Big Jim init seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .

Hi Larsguy,
My vote is for simple. Luke said, 18:17, "Truly I say to you,
whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a young child will by no means get in it."A little child could never understand your explanation. Spinner

The Greek word phos is the Hebrew word equiv.of the one used in Gen 1:3 and refers to Jesus, according to the Zodhiates Greek dictionary.
It says(III B,#5457) phos means," Especially of Jesus as the great teacher.....who brought light..."Colossians 1:15, says, "He (Jesus) is first-born of all creation."Countless references in the Christian Greek Scriptures refer Jesus to being a light. (see Luke 2:27-32, Matthew 4:15-17.
The light that was the first of all creation, was Jesus.

Larsguy, I want to commend you for trying so hard to understand the
number of the wild beast. You have worked very hard, but I completely disagree with you on the meaning of the number 666, the mark of the beast. There are two marks in the Bible, the one of the "beast, and the one of God. They are in opposition. If you read the passage in the book of Revelation 22:14, original Greek,it says, Blessed are those who keep the commandments of God, so
the authority to go to the trees of life may be theirs. God's King-
dom conditions are those in the 7th day laws. NO work, no buy or sell, no burdens, no fires, ALSO the Jubilee laws were all debts can-
celled, land returned. The 7th year the land would rest. These are the EXACT conditions in the Garden of Eden. Which are the
same conditions in God's Kingdom--His purposes re-established.The 666 means a man's number. Meaning not god's. Man not understanding the requirements, and not keeping the laws, and not being in the Kingdom.Their limit is 6 in all their acivity.
The most important law in the Mosaic Law was the Sabbath laws, which
include the above. See Exodus 31:12-14," Especially my sabbaths you are to keep, for it is a sign (SAME as MARK***) between me and you during your generations that you may know that I Jehovah am sanctifying you."
***Word used in Revelation 13:17 #5480,charagma, neut. noun, to engrave, meaning mark, or symbol. Matthew 24:30 #4592,semeion, neut noun, sign, mark, token. The complete Wordstudy Dictionary, (Greek),

1952 WT - Official Policy on Anointed
by Amazing inthis is a must read: the following is taken from the january 15, 1952 watchtower, pages 63 and 64. it is the most cmpassionate, kind, and detailed article i ever found on the topic of how jws know they are anointed.
the article even encourages jws to consider'partaking of the emblems' at the memorial.
it is the 'final article' that gave me the 'courage' to openly declare my hope as one of the anointed.

Dear Amazing:
The life of a true anointed is very hard. The truly anointed
compare to the prophets of old. They were abused every way possible.
Believe me, you don't want to be of that class. Whether or not the WT
org. is the truth or not, doesn't change the existence of the 144,000. -

What drives exJWs to atheism?
by ros ina significant number of former jehovah's witnesses come out of the watchtower still believing the bible and considering themselves christians.
most coming out are in a serious state of bewilderment, and they look intently and sincerely for something to fill the huge void of lost religion, lost family and friends, and lost fellowship.
they seek some viable spiritual association with others of like mind while at the same time having become very wary of any organized religion.. what is it that eventually draws so many of us (not me) to agnosticism or atheism?

Farkel Obviously, English is not your primary language, as you seem not to understand simple concepts. My apologies for confusing you.
NOTE: On the tree of life-- it was always available to those in the
garden as long as they obeyed. But, as they were perfect, they did
not need the medicinal properties it contained. The fruit must have
been something we can not even imagine the delight of flavor. -

Jan, You state God made "evil" when He made the tree of good and evil
All he made was a tree which gave man the choice of free will. Just
because Adam and Eve chose to exercise their free will meant they knew God was not a dictator, and acted as they wished.
All evil was, was death and the preceeding degeneration. That fruit
slowly acted on the immune system, and allowed anaeobic bacteria to
metabolize foods into hormones, which collected over the years, and
caused death.WE all have free will. Look what it has done to the earth. We are
on the brink of complete destruction of our planet because we have no
respect for living according to God's ways.God could have killed Adam and Eve immediately, but would have ap-
peared a true bully and murderer (Dedalus), but has allowed the most
harmless uncleaness to continue to prove that his way of doing things
is the only way(keeping his laws) Remember He destroyed Sodom. He
will end very soon this FREE WILL by armageddon. He no longer has to
prove His ways are the right ways. You don't believe in God? Your choice of free will HE GAVE YOU.

Dedalus: You speak of the slaughter of children, and harm to others
ordered by God say for example in the land of Canaan? I used to be
hurt that the God I worshipped could order the killing of entire cities, then, I read about early man, who ate their parents when they
reached a certain age, and other horrible unclean practices. One per-
son told me, mother rattlers raise baby rattlers. When you really
care to know why God ordered such acts, you try to understand. We
can always search for something to stumble us. If you are a parent,
your children don't always know why you do what you do. How can we
always feel we are capable of understanding the mind of God? -

Dedalus, you asked me to give you an example of "mistakes, and whole
sentences changed. OK1. Revelation 22:14 says(NWT)," Happy are those who wash their robes, that the authority (to go) the trees of life may be their..." The oldest known MS says,"Blessed are those doing the commandments of Him so the authority to the tree of life may be theirs."
2. Isaiah 65:22 says(NWT),"For like the days of a tree will the days
of my people be" The oldest known MS says, "My peopole will live as
long as the tree of life lives."3. Matthew 24 uses the Greek word "parousia" and translates it, pre-
sence. In Greek, it means, alongside, the substance of the female.4. The calendar God gave Moses in the book of Exodus was called the
Abib. It was taken away when the Isrealites went into capitivity in
Babylon. The calendar they still use, is the Babylonian, which is
inaccurate, and even uses a Babylonian god's name for the name of one
of it's months. The Society has the original Abib Calendar, and even
refers to it in the large brown NWT on page 23 footnote 11*"second",
and 24 footnote 13*,"First month". The first month Nisan, in spring,is
the Babyonian first month, and as you can see, the first month in the
footnote Gen 8:13 shows the original was the latter half of September,
first half of October. I have the original calendar, and would be
happy to send it to you, if the Society refused a request from you. -

Hi! I'm new, and I hear all your negatives about why believe in the
God of the Bible. From my experience, until you study the Old and
new in the languages of Hebrew and Greek, you cannot make an informed
decision based on facts. I have found so many mistakes, whole
sentences changed from the original, no wonder there are so many
confused, and unhappy people trying to find God. The fact that you
are in this chat room means to me that you DO need God in your life.
You need to look up the actual verses you are troubled by. I am
very happy with my faith in Jehovah. But I believe MY WAY, with MY
learned confidence. If you care, YOU CAN find the TRUTH. Love
to truth seekers.
