  JW beliefs that are clearly not based on scripture

  mustaches are okay, but beards are not.

  suits and dresses are the only acceptable forms of clothing for worship.. .

  how many times is the term "governing body" found in bible?

  45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

  Are v.45-47 used as the basis for the "faithful and discreet slaves"? V.45-51, is more like a parable to me.

  Thank you for your explanation. But is there any Biblical basis at all on this? I mean such a huge importance to the validity of the existence of org who has the only "truth", it should be mentioned as frequently and as clearly in the Bible isn't it?

  so, it has been agreed that i will be reading the bible with my jw friends.

  straight bible no wt.. we tried to start with matthew and move through the new testament.

  i insisted on using the esvs i purchased from amazon for $.49 a piece so we could write in them.

  Watch the movie "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe". Azlan the lion is like Jesus, Edmund is like man (Adam) and the witch is satan.

  God is a god of His word, what He say He cannot break. When He said if Adam/Eve eat the fruit of knowlegde of good and evil they will die/perish, it cannot be changed. So hell is by default. But because of His mercy and love for mankind, He himself became the sacrifice/ransom (Jesus paid the price on the cross) so that mankind will have the 2nd chance.
