  jehovah's witnesses and blood transfusioni had forgotten that the jehovah's witnesses (jw) forbid blood transfusions, but this article in last sunday's new york times reminded me.

  it's about physicians who are performing bloodless operations to accommodate the jws who can't receive blood.. the piece starts with the tale of rebecca tomczak, a jw who needed a lung transplant because her own lungs had been destroyed by the disease sarcoidosis.

  a topic on here about 1975 prompted me to write about how, for me, that is and never was or will be an issue.. also, the 144,000 and 'two classes' with memorial partaking, and child abuse are not issues with this religion.

  everyone has their unique teachings and personnel problems.. the real problem with this religion was highlighted in the 2008 yearbook.

  it gave a story of a young woman who was from estonia who was on the equivalent of american idol for estonia.

  2. roman 14:5 one [man] judges one day as above another; another [man] judges one day as others; let each one be convinced in his own mind.

  so how come they say birthdays and festivals are a sin?.

  Wake Up Your Family Through Family Worship Night!

  i've thought of an excercise that can knock 2 birds with 1 stone.

  you can walk away performing a spiritual demand by the watchtower, while also introducing ttatt to your family.

  i did this once with my roommate way before i knew the ttatt, we wrote questions on the back of flash cards, choosing them randomly to create realistic situations that you may encounter at the door.

  Watchtower Birthday Logic

  the watchtower bases their opposition to birthdays by two scriptures, saying something bad happened and god must have put it in there for a reason.

  following their logic are there any other things jws shouldnt do because bad things happened in a couple of scriptures?.

  all i've done is posted scriptures on my facebook page for discussion.

  this uber-jw 'friend' has engaged me in debate, each time cutting and pasting a whole bunch of wt quotes on whatever our topic is, and i've responded with scriptures and she could only answer with another wt quote, and now today i see she's unfriended me!

  all her comments are gone too.
