@free2beme, guy, we birds of a species! I can even quote Thomas Paine and make it sound like something Paul said, all thanks to the WTS and their deceptive quoting!!

[endif]i have to say, being a witness in my past has made me very knowledgeable on faking being a christian when the moment is needed.
like when you meet some overzealous christian parent of your child.

Now, note something they did! Normally, they would write cited verses as they appear first in the Bible, e.g Gen6:6; Job...; Matt.... Then did you notice they deferred by citing Jonah ahead of Genesis? I immediately felt something was fishy, and it occurred to me: Jonah 3:10 suited their explanation far better than Gen 6:6, in fact, Gen 6:6 contradicts it! Since, they know they cannot convince a rational mind with these illogical explanations, they tend to confuse the ardent Bible reader (and believer) by superceding one verse that supports their opinion over the others putting the readers into a dilemma as "all sriptures is inspired of God". They sure know the power of confusion, tis like a pun we often did in our primary school debates: we always ended with, "I hope with this few words of mine I have been able to convince you than rather confuse you that farmers are better than doctors..." So instead of "than", we'd say "or" and it made a whole lots of things much easier especially when you, the debater does not actually believe that farmers are better than doctors!
...Well, God said he felt regret, I guess maybe he's regretting saying so now!!! LOL

On the subject of the anointed...
by leaving_quietly ini moved this comment from another thread to here as i felt it deserved its own thread.. one thing i've noticed is that the letters from paul often include the phrase "all the holy ones", such as at eph 1:15. some translations render this "all the saints".
it seems to be differentiating two groups.
those who are "holy ones" and those who are not.

But the Watchtower said EVERYONE back then was anointed!

Is trying to awaken a JW tantamount to "robbing him of his bliss"??
by never a jw inlast thursday i was propmpted by a recent thread to read the daily text (feb 28, 2013).
i then had the audacity to send a text message to all four jw's nephews/nieces (in their mid 20's).
i offered my opinion by summarizing it "put and shut up".

Can't they EVER answer a "normal" question?
by mac n cheese inok, so, some jws stopped by my apartment today.
i knew two of the three that came to the door.
they were all very friendly, no mention was made of our long absence from the kingdom hall, even though hubby is sporting a full beard.. here's what i don't get, i asked after several of their family members and the responses were, "oh, my sister and her husband are now regular pioneers" and "he's a ministerial servant now.

I know, this isn't earth shattering, what's more surprising is that we were treated better than when we were IN.
That's because they are only trying to get you back "IN"! Get back and be treated like sheet , sorry, cheap . . . oh sheep! Or maybe to a JC!!

Now, I wouldn't stop laughing today! Reminds me of my childhood when I'd write copy-cat versions of Awake articles, such nauseous nostalgia! And this wins "Satire Post of the Year" in my mind! And talking about Peep reminds me of another palindrome character "Pirrip". So much great expectations are expected from "God's only earthly organisation", but all they do is just go back and forth with their teachings, like a windvane during a whirlstorm, like a palindrome!

"Why Do Many Male Jehovah Witnesses Who Learn TTATT Grow Beards"?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia inthe year once 1983 and the brother who use to study the bible with me drove by and had a full on "charles manson" looking facial hair and beard.
i asked tina, a friend what's up with him?
tina was 19 and a hot red-head woman who was partially in the religion but had problems with fornication.

I started growing my beard the day I got DFed. And guess what, even my JW girlfriend and my other JW friends that still venture to talk to me said I look more matured, or rugged, and they like it. Actually, more JW girls seem to be fascinated with me, and when no one's looking, would greet and even invite me over to their place! I also noticed almost all youths who left often grow a beard over here. Then, even many JW youths are tending to leave their facial hairs until they are called "to order" by the elders.
