  Let the Sun shine in - March Awake

  has this been covered yet?.

  i was looking to download the new nwt from jw.org and stumbled across an awake on creation - march 2014 edition.

  and it always interests me to see the latest spins they'll try to make creation sound plausible.. seems now they are implying the sun, moon, and stars were created when god said "let there be light".

  This is not the first time they've spun that yarn. When I a kid, I remember my dad at a Family Study telling us that the light became discernible from a human POV on the third day and more on the fourth day when the atmosphere clear up. I think we were discoursing the Creation book then. What I said that stumped my dad was that, "But Dad, there weren't any humans on the third or fourth day, why would they be reporting as eyewitnesses?!" He never was able to answer that one, and he was pretty good with answers back then!

  Annual Meeting Instructions to MS / Elders

  have any elders or ministerial servants here recieved any specific instructions regarding the annual meeting?

  as an ms all i have been told to do is to arrive early to "await further instruction due to the sensitive nature of my assignment".

  ironically all i can imagine after hearing that a few times is dispensing cyanide laced kool aid to attendees.

  I just got some "privileged info"!

  Watch out for MOST important announcement at the Annual Meeting:

  "The Governing Body has been so BUSY! So busy slim-fitting the FDS. So BUSY re-editing a new New World Translation (re-revised). So BUSY making truckloads of money from property sales and other forms of racketeering, so BUSY using said monies to built the most luxurious adult home in Warwick (note, we shall rename it Peacestrong) for our retirement. So BUSY defending all the pedophiles and all other sorts of criminals who have had the luck of being Watchtower's henchmen. So BUSY dictating your medical and health options and your bedroom manners and so so BUSY just sticking our long pinochio noses into every place they do not belong to... In short, we have been so BUSY that Jayhover has chosen a new name for us- a name in the likeness of that which Jacob after trying to hump a wild camel and gotten kicked in the groin resorted to having fought a fictitious angel and being called Isreal- yes, henceforth to show how BUSY we have been and will continue to be, we shall no longer be called The Governing Body (a name with Catholic, and hence pagan, origin), but we shall be called by the unique and ingenious name...   Funny enough, as a kid I always felt my dad travelled too often because of all those Bethel volunteer works he was doing, and my mum had to work so hard because she basically had to feed the family, and also provide the finance for the huge budget of the annual district convo drama(s) my dad had to direct at the end of year! Now,

  "What regrets might Brianne’s father experience later in life? By putting too much emphasis on material things, how is he affecting his relationship with his daughter? What does his family need from him more than money?" reads to me...

  "What regrets might my father experience later in life? By putting too much emphasis on spiritual things, how is he affecting his relationship with his son? What does his family need from him more than appreciation letters from Bethel?" Anyways, the answer to that last question is... MONEY!

  Yeah, money may not buy any of those three things they did mention, but absolutely cannot their "spirituality" either! Hypocrites!!

  Which country is better to migrate Canada or Australia?

  i am sure nowhere is perfect but if we want to compare these two countries from different prospectives like racism, job, income/spending, quality of life, standard of living etc.

  can you please give me a rough idea by sharing your experiences.. .

  by the way, i am considering applying for a masters progrmme in any of the two countries.. .

  The ones who participate in CONvention...is it all a load of hypocrisy?

  i am talking about the ones who get special mentions or interviews or part in assemblies and conventions, they are usually stars of the congregation at least as acknowledged by boe.

  when i had interacted personally with these people, i did not find them special in any way.

  they neither reflected any true love for j, but were quite the very opposite and ambitious to be the best in "the organization", with very little humility.

  They made me edit mine once at the DC, when I was ten! Told my dad I never wanted to give a platform experience, and for a long time I was scared I had sinned against Jehovah's holy spirit (unforgiveable sin) and I had nightmares of dying at Big A. Towards the end of my JW career anyways, I had all the experiences, I just could make them up fast enough. The interviewers at assemblies and conventions could always count on me to have the exact experience needed for the bragging sessions- I called them My Watchtower Arabian Nights, and my JW girlfriend even told me my platform fictions were more believeable than Dan Brown's books! (She never doubts them until I tell her I lied). I told her I discovered religious people were the easiest to decieved, as they were already decieving their selves already. Keep it simple, with a hint of divine intervention- that's the right recipe for JW deciet since they don't believe in heavy doses of miracle

  Yeah, I especially loved the "Jehovah-o-lantern" part, very very insightful of you, Terry! Altho', you could also have used "Jah-o-lantern", the Jah almost rhymes with Jack. But I loved it all the same, and the analogy was perfect.

  Here's one too: Why are JWs always told to always act as models? Because models always have a plastic smile on!

  Or: Why does the JW pioneer considers herself a model? Because she can maintain a fake smile for 24 hours if there was company!

  but still this religion fascinates me.

  in my eyes most jw are very sincere, but dumb sheep.. this board is filled with ex-jw.

  Why Still Go?

  for those who are disfellowshipped or da'd, why do you guys still go to the kingdom hall?

  i am just curious to the fact, because if they are teaching falsehood, why partake in it?

  i mean, you do not have to maintain appearances any longer, so what is your motivation or reason?

  I go there just to stumble others, and cause some few discomfort i.e I always don't seat at the back, visit the toilet often, wait till the end of every meeting and don't sing any song, then visit the magz stand and endeavor to greet one or two persons on the way out! The elders once called me about it, and I told them the don't-greet laws bound their members and not me, so maybe they could announce it on the platform for them not to greet me and I could record it and sue their asses! And I do get inspirations (likely from the boredom and annoyance) for writing poems that reveal who JWs truly are when at the meetings. I am gonna name them Poems From the Kingdumb Hell. At my home congo, where they hardly practise the shunning thing, I just go for the solidarity and to get family off my back! If I can help it, I don't go at all and go to church instead where I can at least dance to my heart satisfaction since there are no party's on Sunday
