  a very certain distinctive of jws is how they refer to themselves.

  "one of jehovah's witnesses".

  it's one of those coded jargon thingies.

  We arent witnesses of anyone because in the 21st century we haven't witnessed anything, we can't claim to be witnesses of Jesus because we weren't there when he walked the earth, nor were we there when the Apostles performed miracles by holy spirit. All we have at best is hearsay 🤷

  There aren't that many Irish witnesses, must of us are 'blow ins' as the local term goes, brought in by parents and grandparents to 'serve where the need is greater' back in the 80s and 90s.

  Ireland has been one of the JWs least successful countries for converts, by their own admission.

  Too many rules and regulations, Irish people don't like those 😁

  a year ago i edited a map of the world to include some big arrows to tell the story of what is to come.

  and i shared that map with various friends.

  So What Religion do You Claim to be when Entering Hospital?

  i've had a few medical procedures.

  once, i had a massive loss of blood and needed 6 units of blood to replace the loss.

  however, i'm curious as to what ex's state to be their religion when filling out the required paperwork when being admitted into a hospital.

  Sadly, judging by a recent conversation with my parents, dad is an elder, their 'bible-trained' (actually WT trained) conscience is totally clear when it comes to keeping 'the cong clean'.

  They don't think that men accused of CSA by a victim should be prosecuted at all in the absence of any witnesses, the loss of his reputation and so on and what if she made it all up, like what happened in two supposed cases ( not JW related), and his family life and reputation were destroyed only for her to recant ten years later.

  My argument, so 1000s of child victims shouldn't get any justice just in case one or two of them were lying? Fell on deaf ears, because their conscience allows for the suffering of widows and children. WT trained, not Bible, and certainly not Jesus trained.

  no praying before meals?

  i was recently in the company of a jw.

  this is a long time devout jw and i served them a meal.

  i was surprised by their reaction, they simply sat down, grabbed a fork and began shoveling???

  My kids have to sit through meal time prayers at the grandparents house when they visit, they tel me it's always the same prayer.

  So much for not repeating the same thing over and over like the nations do.

  so as they say one picture is as strong as a thousand words and here you have it guys in the latest study edition of the watchtower for october 2024 that has just been posted on their website a middle aged jw window cleaner dreaming of the new system where things will get better.

  why does the watchtower need to talk now about jws on minial self employed jobs?

  Actually, in my country menual jobs like window cleaning pays quite well, several jws i know who are in the cleaning business own their own homes, go on holidays abroad etc. They're not on the bread line, and according to economic predictions, service jobs are already better paid than many jobs that require college degrees.

  I know what WT is trying to do here, but don't look down on people based on their job choices, at the end of it all, we're all only tax slaves for the state, whether you're a Doctor or a window cleaner, and I can guarantee that the window cleaning is much less stressful!

  What would happen if the religion just straight out gets outed as bad? The ORG admits to it and all the members get told to disperse

  how do y’all think the the members still in it would react?.

  It was mentioned on here before how the WT could claim the GB are evil slave, secretly retire them all in nice little villas somewhere to keep them quiet, and install a new bunch, then carry on as normal, possibly changing the name Jehovah's Witnesses to something else.

  Ages of each user here?

  i'm interested to know the age demographics here.

  it must be significantly different to other exjw forums.

  it would be a damning report for watchtower if most of us appear to have left for decades.. you don't have to mention your exact age, you could always say "in my 50s".. i am in my 70s.
