Blueblades, for those of us who no longer have a subscription to the WT rag, can you tell us what the Feb 15 issue says? Or sum up at least? Thanks. :)

No more Faithful and Discreet Slave?
by Blueblades insoon when the unthinkable happens, that is,when there is no more faithful and discreet slave.
(according to the society).it will leave them without anyone capable of receiving "new light".will the watchtower have to disband when this happens?.
the answer is found in the feb,15.

Can Good Exist Without Evil??
by Sargon insome ponderings:.
the laws of physics tell us that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
good and evil are equal and opposites of the same concept.

What is good and what is evil? You speak as though the two are black and white, when in fact there no absolutes. All we have is shades of grey, and even those shades of grey are subjective. One's own experiences in the past tint one's perception of current matters, and since no two people share the exact same experiences in the same order, no one can view things exactly as another does.
This is the type of logic that is lost on, say, George W(armonger) Bush, pounding away on his pulpit about the Axis of Evil.

For Those Still Attending Meetings
by JH infor those who still go to the mettings once in a while, did you notice if the elder visits to inactive ones is paying off?
are some coming back to the hall?
have they mentioned a couple of names of people who have decided to quit for good?

I haven't had a visit in about three years; and they had been at two-year intervals until that time. But I told the elder (whom I didn't even buzz into my apartment building, just spoke to him through the security intercom LOL) that I did not wish to be contacted again. I guess it took.

My oldest brother's wife ignores me with a vengeance (and not just me, also my never-been-a-JW husband, for whom she should ostensibly have no reason to shun); won't even make eye contact or say hello when circumstances put us in the same place at the same time. So when I went to my worldly uncle's wedding a few years ago and the whole fam was there, I did the same thing; put her on the spot and she HAD to respond or seem incredibly rude in front of everyone in the room (it was brilliantly timed to be during a lull in conversation so all could hear us). She mumbled a "hi" and walked away.
Quotes refers to us as "social pariahs" and that's what we seem to be. If no one else is around, the Dubs might deign to say hi; but if others from the flock are watching, they will fall all over themselves to avoid eye contact or whatever.
I've never before had the power to make someone else sooooo uncomfortable; I kinda enjoy it, in a wicked sort of way! LOL

I believe this is from a Good Housekeeping article from the 50's. What's sad is that Good Housekeeping hasn't changed that much in 60 years!

1914 Generation
by starfish422 inwas just reading on freeminds; was asked by a mormon poster on another board, to give a brief history of jw organization and i came across the following (here is the link: http://www.freeminds.org/history/5_eras.htm ):.
"finally throw out their "1914 generation" teaching with the october 15 and november 1st, 1995 issues of the watchtower, which was one of their main playing cards.
but simon says, "it's no thang," while older witnesses know better.

Thanks, everyone for your explanations. To quote John F. Kennedy, "Let me say this about that..." LOL Too funny! Many thanks, all.

For wherever two or more of you are gathered in his name....I think you've just described any random group of 10 or more people. JWs aren't excluded from that.

I do not know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation.
You were born somewhere around territory of modern Alaska approximately on 1550.
Your profession was farmer, weaver, tailor.
Your brief psychological profile in that past life:
Seeker of truth and wisdom. You could have seen your future lives. Others perceived you as an idealist illuminating path to future.
Lesson, that your last past life brought to present:
You fulfill your lesson by helping old folks and children. You came to that life to learn to care about weak and helpless.
Now you remember?
