  So weekday meeting attendance is so bad they don't bother counting it anymore. And we never had had a lot of visitors so i see they acknowledge public talks being slanted towards the publishers... End must be getting close...

  "As economic conditions continue to deteriorate"

  Well I cannot speak for the UK but here in the USA (Southeast) Jobs are plentiful for those that can work and are willing to. Also if you have an education beyond High School, the high paying jobs are there for the taking.

  Perhaps this phrase in the letter is based on within the org, where the majority are uneducated, and are hamstrung by the theocratic schedule that prevents overtime and unfavorable work schedules?

  Why no mention of the Satanic Attacks on God's people thru lost lawsuits costing millions? Why no mention of the millions taken in in the USA with never ending contributions to pay for the Kingdom Halls that publishers once owned...

  So sad...

  What Do You Think About Banning Plastic Bags?

  we need to save the planet so we have to stop using plastic bags!

  in massachusetts, the new law will be going into effect soon.

  if you go food shopping, you only cat get paper bags.. what is your opinion of the state banning plastic bags?

  I say do your best to take care of your home. But don't get crazy. Personally I recycle what I can but I am not fanatical.

  and it is just plain fun!

  each new thing, birthdays, halloween, next thanksgiving and xmas are all proof that we were held back and restricted from enjoying life.. .

  i was a jw from infancy.

  we had a melting pot type of congregation.

  i grew up with all types of witnesses , all with different backgrounds.

  There was plenty of subtle racism in the South, in fact when my parents moved from Buffalo to Spartanburg, SC they were the only white folks in the hall. The congregations were segregated to avoid upsetting the community. When they integrated many did not want to go and there are still to this day many predominate 'black' halls and 'White' halls.

  Many gatherings were like this especially in the families. Most folks up north who moved south were not like this and treated everyone the same. I noticed a lot of what I will call reverse racism where there was hidden animosity towards many in the hall. Just my 2 cents/pence...

  almost around the corner and i’ve started thinking of all the prep needed for family time.

  I am excited to be celebrating for the first time this year. I have bought my first tree / lights / wreath and I am going all out in this. Lots of my non-JW family and friends are providing me with support and ideas. Some of you may remember growing up in the cult like myself and the emotional trama of missing out on all the fun and family times together. Funny all the JW's loved that time of year the sights, the sounds, the smells....

  No more 'thank you' in response to Merry Xmas or Happy Holidays...I get to say it right back to the general public and workmates....I am so hyped....

  Normal Family Relations Continue...My Arse....

  i think that the big issue here is the double standard based on the location of the family members - if they are 'immediate' meaning they live at home in the same dwelling under the same roof then it's ok but if you are like me and living on your own, your family will absolutely avoid contact with you as that is the real jw policy..the old canada court trial and recent swedish news are totally out of context and the jw attorneys are complete tools and filthy liars....
