Unwritten, congregational 'rules'
by Thetruthhurts inwhat were some of yours?
the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!
these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.

Why does the Borg never use the terms Grace or Ezer
by HiddenPimo inlet me start with: this is not a discussion of the validity of the bible or whether it is inspired of god.. my question is why do you think they don't use grace in their teachings when this is such paramount teaching in the rest of the christian world.
and why do they not reference the hebrew word for helper in genesis 'ezer'.
this word as applied to a woman seems more dignified as it carries the connotation of strength where the man is weak.

What ever your belief system, these 2 words would actually make their teachings more appealing and give more respect to the woman.

Why the Oxygen Special will not work like we think it will...
by HiddenPimo inwithin the very documentary is a reason i think that jw's for the most part will not wake up even if they watch this program.
the one lady actually saw as her family sat behind the abuser in court supporting him despite the established fact that he had abused their very own child.. this shows how deep the indoctrination is.
i am not saying that some won't wake up, but the majority will carry on, not even because they think these things are lies but because they will look past that at all costs to side with jehovah.

I am hopeful it will have an impact yet cautious as I was an elder and never heard about the Australian Royal commission till I have become PIMO a year later. But when I did find out it was at that point I said I have to go - so as many of you have said - it could definitely push many to the POMO status.

If a parent will allow their child to die for the sake of Blood doctrine, then they will surely do anything else requested by a group of men.
The only way is if the Organization is destroyed by the Governments themselves...
I welcome any discussion either way...
Happy Friday,

One of the closing moments is a quote from Aeschylus, the Greek tragedian, who wrote that "He who learns must suffer. And even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop from the heart."
Have a great day everyone! Yes I am telling you what to do ;-)

Newspaper: JW top lawyer Shane Brady handles Duch court case, highest level jw.org involvement
by Gorbatchov innewspaper stated that the highest jw.org lawyer handles the dutch court case.
so the highest level is involved.. the report of trouw, nationwide newspaper:.
the way jehovah's witnesses deal with sexual abuse is traumatic for victims.

Shane handles all the big time international legal stuff. He travels the world helping with imprisoned brothers and sisters in countries under ban or those that are not allowing conscientious objection to military service. I was close friends with some of his close friends that all grew up together in NB. He also played a big role in many of the No Blood cases in Canada. I would compare him to the Wolf that Marsellous Wallace calls to clean up the situation in Pulp Fiction. I mean what could be better than have all your expenses paid and do the thing you are most passionate about -Practicing Law. Shame you can't win cases with Jehovah's Backing...I guess the legal systems controlled by Satan are more powerful..

Conclusions
▪ A total of 751 participants shared their experiences of sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witness community via our contact point. These experiences included 292 accounts from people with personal experience of abuse and 459 accounts from people who know somebody who suffered abuse.
▪ 80% of the participants in the study reported their experiences of sexual abuse within the Jehovah's Witness community.
▪ 30% of the respondents notified the police and 27% of the respondents filed a police report.
▪ Three-quarters of the victims awarded a score of 5 or less for the handling of their report by the Jehovah's Witness community (average score: 3.3).
▪ 63% of the victims awarded a score of 6 or more for the handling of their report by the police (average score: 6.4).
▪ Compared to internal channels (80% report the offence within the community), a relatively small proportion of the participants in the study engage external channels (30% notify the police and 27% file an official police report). There are reasons to assume that the filing of a police report is hindered by the closed nature of the community and the risks involved in informing external parties. However, our study does not provide causal evidence for this factor and follow-up studies would be required for such evidence.
▪ According to our respondents, the closed culture within the Jehovah's Witness community can also be linked to the problems concerning the handling of reports of sexual abuse. The board has now put protocols and instructions in place to establish procedures for responding to reports of sexual abuse, although these mainly seem to focus on protecting the community - and, by extension, the culprit - rather than the victim. As a result, victims receive limited support and insufficient recognition, which can result in secondary victimization.
▪ While the community has taken steps over the past 10 years to improve how reports of sexual abuse are handled, the Jehovah's Witnesses' formalistic system still provides no guarantee of an adequate response to sexual abuse.
