I noticed the one for the IPhone called Fieldservice assistant that allowed you to record your start and stop time. Wonder how many will use that? It's sure a lot easier to estimate at the end of the month, high of course.

Redemption, Salvation, Atonement? The fly in the ointment
by SweetBabyCheezits ini posted this paine quote in the middle of another thread but thought it deserved its own.
this principle eluded me before reading the age of reason.
it's such a simple, basic concept of justice and yet so many christians miss it (as i did) or ignore it.. .

The After Humans Shows
by Satanus indo any of you watch those?
i don't, cuz i disagree w the concept.
also, at present, i suspect that they may be being put there as a softening up measure on the general public.. what do you think?.

Satanus, really enjoyed the baboon, very thought provoking. As far as the after humans shows, I personally can't turn them off once I start watching. Maybe it's just the scenario they portray. Things would never happen like that in reality, but if it did, it just shows me much work is needed on the part of humans to maintain the life we have, and how powerful nature is, and how things would go on without us. I guess it shows me that after a lifetime of being taught that the earth was specially made for humans, in reality we are insignificant. What it shows me is that we are just another species, a very unique species indeed, but yet just another species.

Hidden implications of Genesis
by losthobbit intoday when i read it, i see a completely different story.. the bible is completely true, or at least that's what many people believe.
when asking them which translation is true, the person might pick their favourite translation.
when asking about things that contradict, be logically incorrect, or refer to unscientific things like the four corners of the earth, one might get a response that some of it is symbolic, and not meant to be taken literally, but everything else is entirely true.. the same principle can be applied to any piece of writing.

Losthobbit,
I too was like you reading Genesis and being so used to hearing it my whole life never gave it much deep thought. It really is amazing to read and anaylze what it actually says. Thanks for your post.
You might enjoy the writings of Runningman, the links no longer work but the whole book is on the second page http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/bible/154236/1/The-Atheists-Book-of-Bible-Stories

Getting upset with children who cannot sit through the meetings.
by life is to short inok this thought came to me the other day.
i was thinking of the co who told me that he liked to see parents spank their children for not sitting still during the meetings.. i remember how hard it was to sit through two hours when i was four or five years old.
it was like forever.. i was thinking of comparing the hours that we have been alive to how long two hours is for a child.

This situation has been faced by many, there usually is no easy solution. And has been said, once you look behind the curtain, there is no going back. Good luck in your efforts.
I really appreciate Terry's thoughts about loyalty. In my experience, that really highlights the crux of the matter.
