Guess we're in for a long wait on this one.
And I was really looking forward to a response.
sorry if this has been posted before.
i came across it and thought it was worth pointing out: http://members.tripod.com/sosoutreach/wts/607.html.
(edited) the annoying popup caused me to cut and paste the table from the page, rather than embed it: the narrative before and after is good too so you might want to check it out the original page.

basically in my life i have a handful of relatives that are still in.
my mother and sister, my in-laws and my sister-in-law.
over the last ten years of our exit, they have actually been pretty supportive of our decision.
I can think of others who are not relatives who I seriously doubt I would share anything with even if they came and asked me.
not too long ago this thread was started: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/108750/1894427/post.ashx#1894427.
it started me thinking about what it must have been like for him being raised as a gb member's only child at bethel.
now i had a father that was at the forefront of the society's activites, and i know about some of the "perks" that come with that.
Who knows what is mind will allow him to learn. I think he'd make one fine apostate.

Not a one! Althought they don't shun me, if I ever breathe anything slightly religious I can see the eyes glaze over. And funny, they don't seem to care much about bringing me back to their fold either, at least they don't bother to ask me what I'm thinking.
An exception is my mother in law with whom I never hold back telling her what I think. I got into a discussion with her about 607 and then I caught myself. What the hell was I thinking. I don't want her on my side!
this is my first posting on jwd!
i wrote out my disassociation letter.
i am sending many in the congregation copies of my letters exposing the fine "elders".
Welcome Hawkeye
Gumby,
Wise words you speak
i'm anticipating a series of visitis from the witnesses to invite me to memorial.
every year i get a few with the preprinted invitation, a couple slightly old magazines, and big smiles.
these are people who i grew up with, who were kind to me, who honestly think my fade out will cost my eternal soul at the big a. these are the same people who pick up my elderly parents for meetings, bring them food when they are sick, and change their rusted out water heater for them in the dead of winter.
Here's the spin on the "Until he arrives" statement:
One article titled "Why the Lord's Evening Meal Has Meaning For You" (WT March 15, l993 pg.5) states "Until he arrives, said Paul, evidently meaning that these observances would continue until Jesus' arrival to receive his anointed followers into heaven by a resurrection during his "presence." Another reference, "Insight To The Scriptures", Vol. 2, page 269 states "Regarding the duration of this observance, "until he arrives," the apostle Paul evidently had reference to Christ's coming again and receiving them into heaven by a resurrection during the time of his presence."
Reader of WT literature beware anytime you see the word "evidently", that means they have absolutely no proof whatsoever.

I got this info from someone else, this is not my experience, but I think it is very interesting.
Several years ago when I was on a private tour of WT facilities in upstate NY I asked about the Schroeders specifically with Judah Ben in mind.
The brother who was showing us around told me that the Schroeders had their own apartment...on WT grounds. I asked how that was "separate" and said that I resented the fact that they could raise a child while in full time service (at WT expense) and people like me couldn't.
At that moment we happened to be passing the very building where the Schroeder's apartment was located. The building housed the Gilead school if I recall correctly. This was at WT Farm on Red-something Road. The building looked like an overgrown KH, entrance in front, door on side. The Schroeder's apartment was entered through the door on the side of this building.
I asked the brother how this could be construed as off-site, own expense, separate from what the rank and file were paying for, etc. and the brother's answer was that "it has a separate door, they can't walk from their apartment into the other parts of the building, they have to walk around."
Nice work if you can get it!
On a separate note, I met the Schroeders, Albert, Charlotte, Judah Ben and Amber once back in the early 90's. They are really decent people. Judah and Amber were very down-to-earth.
ok, so i was raised luthren, my dad was cathlioc and then i went dub for 5 years and since have been completely turned off religion.
the dub experience combined with world events and my personal ones have pretty much pushed all thoughts of a "almighty" out of my mind.
of course there are times that i think of religion or get into a "2am religion talk" and i wonder wtf is really going on.
Its possible that IF there is a God, he might actually have nothing whatsoever to do with the Bible. He might be a surpreme being. but just not be affilitated with that man author'd book.
With the proper evidence, I could accept there being a god. But the god of the bible, no way!
ok, here's how you prepare for the watchtower study.
come on, it's fun!
an unmarked copy of the watchtower for thewt study that week.
Thanks for the laugh.
My wife goes a little further, she looks up the cited scriptures and puts a note about their content in the margin.

What is the canned jw response to the question starting over asks from Corinthians and the taking communion til Jesus returns, with the wt believing that Jesus returned in 1914, amongst other years??
If someone has the WT CD I'm sure they can pull it up. It don't think it's too canned though as most JW's read the scripture and never give a thought to what it says at the end. The 2 elders that came to see me looked surprised.
