At least they are smart enough to realize they need to prepare. JW's are just going to let Jehovah take care of averything after armegeddon.

But at age 16 and younger the WT religion encourages these young people to make a dedication to a religion that has life long implications?

Signs From God?
by What Now? innot sure about the rest of you that are mentally out, but every now and again i still have those moments where i think "ok god, if this is in fact the true religion and the organization is right and i'm on the wrong path, send me a big, glaringly obvious sign that i can't ignore.. .
anyways, this past sunday my husband and i just did not feel like going to the meeting.
we weren't in the mood to sit through it.

I think the signs got crossed up. God was really trying to tell that other guy you ran into, that he should NOT be going to the meeting, but instead do something productive like getting your shopping done.

If you question some obscure end-times calculation that can't be proven in the bible, or convoluted generation teaching you will be disfellowshiped, cut-off from friends and family. You will be branded as a mentally diseased appostate.
on the other hand...
You can be a CONVICTED MURDERER and remain in good standing because there were not 2 witnesses to the cowardly act of bashing your wife's skull in while she as sleeping!

There was no need for him to repent because he claimed that he did NOT murder his wife.
No claim of guilt! No two witnesses! That is good enough for the JWs.
He should be considered an member in good standing. I would not be surprised if he turns in time for witnessing in prison.

I wonder if anybody knows if Jarka was officially DF'd. I'm curious.
Don't know for sure, but do know that he writes and recevies letters to active JWs. That would seem to indicate that he has not been DF. Guess they can't do it without TWO witnesses.

The elder who was there until 3am was not on official JW call as there was only one elder, but instead was there as a friend.
He was called to testify in court, attempted to use his status as minister to get out of it, but the judge force him to testify since it was not an *official* JW visit. So the congregation left this elder high and dry.
When he finally did testify, he was very evasive in his answering of questions to the point that the judge called him a 'hostile witness'.
