Good points made. I guess if you have to be there, it is something to make it a bit more interesting. I like to mess with my neighbors by naming mine: FBI Mobile van #3

Mobile Hotspot - JWFACTS.COM - Assembly & Conventions
by thedepressedsoul inhere is an idea i tested.
works at both assemblies and conventions.
i have noticed at the last convention and at my last assembly that when i opened up my wifi setting, tons of hotspots came up for people tethering their tablets to their smart phones.

What is the typical range for one of these WIFI hot-spots? Would everyone in the auditorium be able to see it or only those in close proximity to where your at?
How is this any different then standing outside with a sign that says JWFACTS.COM ? I have seen many here poo poo that approach saying it only hardens the JW mindset. At least your outside getting some fresh air and not cooped up listening to bull shit all day! I couldn't do it, even if you paid me!
Edit to add answer to my question above. It appears the average range is 100 to 150 ft. So you would have to strategically be seated in the middle of the audience to reach the most people.

Had an interesting weekend

i met the most amazing people with so many different beliefs.
even so i shared and spoke about god freely and without being judged.

When I went through one of the toughest periods in my life after divorce it was my worldly co-workers who showed me more kindness than anyone at the kingdom hall.
Most all of the JWs knew I was going through divorce, but offered no kind words, just held me at a distance because they just wasn't sure about the why, other than rumors etc. A real lack of love.
Then, when I had a son with a drug problem, I went with him to some NA meetings. What a contrast that other denominations would open their doors to complete strangers in an effort to help them. What help would we get from JWs? Kick him to the curb and shun him. That is not the kind of help addicts need.
Thanks for sharing your story.

Have you heard the one about "Back to the Future" Predicting 911??
by EndofMysteries inwhen somebody posted this on fb, i was anxious to see how ridiculous it would be, probably worse then the gb prophecies, etc.
after watching the clip, i honestly don't know what to believe.
at the very least it's very entertaining and interesting.

Maybe if the Cubs win the World Series this year, I will put faith in the "Back To The Future prophecy." Especially if they sweep in 5 games. LOL Then I will become a true believer.

It would be funny for someone to answer the questions with OLD understanding instead of PRESENT understandings.
If anyone says something about it, just respond; "Oh, I thought what I said was present understanding, i'm sorry, I have been suffering for a short term memory deficit."

Did an EX-JW wake you up to TTATT or did you put the effort to wake up yourself?
by John Aquila inhow many of us were woken up by some apostate yelling false prophets at a convention?.
how many of us were woken up by someone holding a sign and yelling, what happened to 1975.
how many of us were coerced to investigate the wt because some ex-jw pulled up a bunch of old watchtowers magazines and told us to read the false predictions?.

On my own. Reading my sons world history book on the crapper, I noticed it said the fall of Babylon was in 586/587 instead of 607 as always thought. Did some internet searches on the topic that led me to some apostate info. I was determine not to read that so, I researched this period using non-apostate books from the university library.
That lead me to the H2O discussion forum. There I learned of Ray Franz book. Went back to the University library every day on my lunch break to read C of C because I was to paranoid to check it out. It took me about two months to read it 30 minutes at a time back in the corner of the library with another book in front of it, in case a JW happened to walk up and see me. It was all over after that.
Saw many people over the years at conventions with signs and never gave it a second look. Ironically it was things that were said from the convention platform that drove me away and the lack of love shown during one the worst crisis in my life.

Does this "list" have the names of victims on it? If no, I don't see where any personal information was asked for. I don't see where anyone asked for your personal information on this thread.
I got the impression the "list" is a list of preferable law firms to work with.
As long as ALL of the victims have access to this "list" then what really is the point of the OP? Warning the victims not to work with a specific law firm that in not on the "list" that apparently they already have access to?

Bygone Days of Old Bethel...
by freemindfade insomething occurred to me last night.
people that made their pilgrimage to jw mecca (bethel) would often be excited about some silly things, i say silly because for those of you who were there or lived near enough to be involved in these things regularly they lost their magic.
i am talking about on tours one of the most memorable things people talked about or looked forward to... lunch.

"Yes, it is no more than a factory tour. It should inspire one no more or less than that of any other company. But when one has the blinders on the most mundane things take on grand significance."
My Mother was one of these people. One year we toured the factory and she kept going on about "only in Jah's organization could this be done" as we watched the WT & Awake rags pumping out.
The brother giving the tour finally said, "Sister these same printing presses are used to print pornography at other places".
