  Nov 15 Watchtower article regarding Hypocrisy

  i started reading the november 15th watchtower this mroning.. you guys really have to read it.. on page 21 there is an article entitled, "how do you handle hypocrisy?".

  in light of all of the things that have transpired during the last month and a half concerning all of the talk about the wt and their involvement with the united nations, i read it right away.

  one of the paragraphs has a statement that reads: first, we must learn to identify hypocrites.

  The three reasons we leave the "Truth"

  seems to me there are mainly three roads most of us have taken.

  1.we did something "wrong" and were disfellowshipped and after felt able to look at the society in a different light.. 2.we didn't like the "truth" and were looking for a way out.. 3.we wanted it to be the truth but were overcome by the mountain of evidence against it.. which is the most common i wonder.. also do our motives play a large part in how we deal with information criticising the org.. without a reason to act information seems useless.. for instance if a person feels he has nothing to gain by leaving the org will he read different things into the same info as us?.

  i think so and that all who leave must have a reason to do so, something to gain.. this does not make their reasoning wrong or prove they we are looking for just excuse.. but is a normal way in which humans deals with information.. two humans can have the same information but if they want or desire different things they may use the information differently.. maybe thats wht so many say "where else is there to go?

  Hello wannahelp, this is what the same wt said about the UN:

  The second study article of the November 15, 2001 Watchtower is entitled “Jehovah is our refuge”. On page 19 under the subheading
  “No Calamity will Befall Us” in paragraph 14 the following is stated:

  14 Anointed Christians are like alien residents living in tents apart from this system of things. (1 Peter 2:11) ‘Not even a plague draws near their tent.’ Whether our hope is heavenly or earthly, we are no part of the world, and we are not infected by such spiritually deadly plagues as its immorality, materialism, false religion,and worship of “the wild beast” and its “image,” the United Nations. bold mine.

  by their request to disassociate themselves from the un harlot they are basically admitting that they have been caught and have sinned.. when a r&f jw commits fornication and gets caught, they are normally disfellowhiped.

  while this does not happen in all cases, it almost always happens when one does not confess their sin before getting caught.. the judicial committee that deals with a r&f fornication case considers the attitude of the sinner looking for such indicators as:.

  When a R&F JW commits fornication and gets caught, they are normally disfellowhiped. While this does not happen in all cases, it almost always happens when one does not confess their sin before getting caught.

  The judicial committee that deals with a R&F fornication case considers the attitude of the sinner looking for such indicators as:

  1. Do they confess their sin voluntarily or try and cover it over?
  2. Do they try and make excuses for their sin?
  3. Do they try and blame others for their sin?
  4. Do they show a humble attitude about their sin?
  5. Do they allow human pride to justify their sin?
  6. Do they feel sorrow for their sin, or just that they got caught?

  Yes, the GB are imperfect men, just like all other Jehovah's witnesses who are judged by the above standard. As imperfect men they to can sin. The question is how will they act now that they have been caught?

  I personally am eagerly waiting to hear a public response from the WTBTS on this matter. I will wait and withhold judgement until I see how the GB reacts to their sin.

  To the GB and WTBTS:

  But whoever stumbles one of these little ones who put faith in me, it is more beneficial for him to have hung around his neck a millstone such as is turned by an ass and to be sunk in the wide, open sea. MT 18:6 nwt

  Okay WTBTS and Governing Body, I have been stumbled by your fornication with the UN. What do you have to say for yourself?

  finding friends outside the Borg - a Scary thought

  has anyone else found that the teaching of the "outside world" being a "bad association" limits your involvement and ability to make new freinds?.

  if so how have you overcome this and any suggestions to helping those suffering from these feelings?.

  I can relate to the feeling that many have posted here. Currently while neither DF or DA, I have been quite let down by those who I thought were my friends. Just because I have not attended meetings, no calls, just talk about if I was a fake christian or not.

  while I carry the same feelings as many here, I appreciate the suggestions by Eman and others on how to take that first step. Other than those I work with I don't even know where to go to look for new friends.

  I guess it will come with time and effort.
