Personally, I'm grateful that we live in a specialised capitalist society where I don't have to kill and dress my own critters in order to survive. But that doesn't mean I'm some palid hippy that doesn't see the point of hunting and related pursuits. Recently I read that a booming deer population in Massachussets was eating the forests down to the ground. I also read somewhere that they don't take much of a likin' to guns in them thar parts...

he is now at the hospital and still alive.. they played the audio tape of him calling for help.. unbelievable.
in not certain if it was in the us or cnada - accents sounded like southern us but it might have been east canada

Holidays in our country
by Lady Lee ini have noticed a few times that not all countries celebrate their holidays on the same day as canada or the us.
canadians have a better knowledge of the american holidays because we tend to watch many american tv shows.. some holidays are the same where ever you live.
but a lot are different, like mother's day.. so for the benefit of all what are the holidays your country or state/province celebrates?.

That's a little harsh. I live near a very dangerous level crossing, where pedestrians get killed every so often. The last one was a mother - her "junk" (or kids) didn't get removed from the gene pool - does that make you unhappy? Does their grief make you happy? Trust a Darwinist to turn a survival triumph into an existential catastrophe.

The Society for Krishna Consciousness, or whatever they're calling themselves these days, don't cook with garlic because it isn't an acceptable offering to Krishna. Considering garlic is a traditional way to ward off evil spirits, what does that tell you about their "Lord Krishna"?

Reza's form of vegetarianism doesn't even allow use of all vegetables. Garlic and onions, two vegetables that can add flavour and therefore make vegetarian boredom more palatable, are banned by his guru. Instead of those, the detestable hing (or asafoetida), in all its cat's pee smelling glory, must be used instead.

Never trust brothers you don't know!
by 5thGeneration inwell, i broke it to my super devout parents that after this i don't believe there is any reason why i should trust any 'brother' i don't know around my kids.. no way, no how!.
they had to admit this was pretty shocking and enlightening but they still ended up making excuses.
the society will soon have to drop the 'we are better than everyone else' argument for sure.
