Some information from a highly reliable source :
Man, that's some learned source!
are there jw in greece?
i mean how do jw there push "this is wrong translation" argument, as everyone in greece knows greek better then anyone else could.
ofcourse koine is not the same as todays greek but anyway, i can't imagine that jw can push their argument about lousy translation of your native language!

It's quite simple. The WBTS translates their English translation of Koine Greek into Modern Greek. Concerning John 1:1, while Koine Greek doesn't have the indefinite article (for all practical purposes, that is), Modern Greek does. Modern Greek speaking study sees "a god" in the Greek NWT and assumes the translation is accurate. I doubt Modern greeks have Koine Greek New Testaments lying around everywhere, anymore than Modern English speakers have Tyndale's or the Bishop's Bibles.

the thread on the wt going into the red, and the remark on "cheap paperback bibles" made me think of the old green nwt.. there was a lot of buzz back then about why it was green.
i heard these from various cos -.
a) it was green to prove that it was not from christendom.
My guess would be a combo of 1 and 3. Making the Bible a lively colour as opposed to Christendoms dour black provided a point of difference. (Like the names themselves wouldn't! )
i find it amazing that the wtbts says that you should refuse blood, even if it could save your life.. look at the apostle paul.
he knew the injunctions of acts 15 - yet by his own admission in his letters to the corinthians admitted that he bought meat sacrificed to idols and ate it.
so would he have refused this meat if he were about to die of hunger?.
"So, Brother, did you choke your chicken before you ate it?"
Sister Scully, some elders would like to see you in the back room.

I always like the contradictions like "Must be ambitious, but not married to his job" or "submissive lady with independent streak"
i was just reading the convention thread..the wbt$ tells jehovah`s witness`s which hotels they can and cannot stay in..i`ve been out a long time,so this is news to me..wbt$ continues to expand thier control over jehovah`s witness`s..jehovah`s witness`s continue to give up more and more of thier personal freedom to a publishing company.this has continued for as long as i can remember..make no mistake, wbt$ will come up with many more rules for jehovah`s witness`s to follow...what new moronic rules do you see the wbt$ imposeing on jehovah`s witness`s?...outlaw

dear givers of the benefit of the doubt,.
i recall that in discussing "love believes all things," the aid book stated that we should give our "brother" the benefit of the doubt until we have good reason to no longer do so.
that's the gist of it.
I thought a true troll was here simply to aggravate and annoy us not simply a jw supporter. Like franze666 for example.
The pro-Dub posters here are trolls by their own religion's definition. If they were true Dubs, they wouldn't be here associating with apostates, opposers and the DFed. So they're not real Dubs, but are pretending to be, so as to stir up trouble and bad feeling. Sounds pretty trollish to me.

We beat them up pretty bad on the knife forums. It's a hobby all in it'self that we enjoy a bit more then we should.
It's amazing how trolls will populate an unmoderated forum, no matter what the subject. I've even encountered them on recipe-swapping newsgroups!
Way to go with the knife-making! I bet you're a whiz at heat-treatment - knowing all the right colour/temperature points.

I just showered this morning I could not possibly smell like one yet, or could I? I will have to try to find some troll scent masking soap. Any suggestions?
Hey Brent, just taking the Mick! Nice to see you, Cobber!
