My Bethel Experience Part 6
by new boy ini 'm sorry all of this is not in order.............i'm writing as all this comes back to me.. my first room assignment was room 33 in the 129 building....it was and old building, built around the turn of the century,...the society owned it but it had worldly people in to.......i'm not sure why but maybe there was a law that provented them from being kicked out or something.
it was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment (about 1000 sq.
ft.) there were 7 of us in there, all new boys ( less then one year there).

Lots cockroaches.........we would have roach races......we would catch these roachs, put them in glass jar, draw a circle on the kitchen floor, put the glass jar in the middle and let them go.............the first rouch that got to the circle.....WON!.........the prize was getting squashed.
That doesn't sound at all inconsistent with the Bethel attitude towards reward and punishment, as you've told your story.

I find the irony interesting. That a short term blood substitute, if developed, would help wounded soldiers on battlefields in the future. Be proud, Watchtower - The medical research that you force on decent folk outside your cloistered halls (and don't contribute towards in any way), will help save the lives of the soldiers who protect your way of life!

Went to a Wesleyan fellowship breakfast
by Undecided ini kind of enjoyed going and having breakfast with the group of men.
each one told his story of who he was and his religious feelings.
no one questioned my jw background after i told them of my history and that i was looking for the "truth" again.

It's not "sectioning off". As mentioned, most churches have men's and women's groups, and mixed. You can choose which one you go to. They don't demand that everyone attend the same 5 one-size-fits-all meetings. It's actually about having choices, something that Dubs never had offered to them.

Prince - now a patry pooper
by stevenyc inhttp://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/494069p-416141c.html .
prince backed out of his party at ink in miami the sunday of the super bowl because the hot spot's dragon decor offends his religious beliefs.
the singer, a devout jehovah's witness, "sent someone for a walk-through of the space," co-owner laurent bourgade tells us.

There's nothing worse than pooping a patry, IMHO.

What rebellious things did you secretly do while still in?
by Paisley inonacruse and mouthy said something very interesting in becca's thread and it got me thinking..... did you intentionally do certain things, either to assert yourself, even though privately/secretly, or just because you strongly felt it was the right thing to do?
things that were not in keeping with the organization's teachings?
things that if known, could get you in hot water in the congregation?.

smoking, drinking, porn, masturbating, parties, street racing, egg and TP homes on halloween, vandalism of a church's Cross sign(we made it into a stake)
Now that you know better, you need to make restitution: go and erect a cross in front of a Kingdom Hall

I can guess: you used to sit and oggle all the young nubile sisters, imagining them in the roles of your favourite anime heroines. You're soooooo transparent!

Bleeding Hearts Question JW Main Source of Income!
by Stephanus infrom the melbourne newspaper, the age :.
danielle robertson, ceo of dial-an-angel, says clients hiring the $25-an-hour cleaners from her agency are typically time-poor.
"people don't want to spend four hours on a saturday cleaning - they would rather be sunning themselves or taking a walk or spending time with their family", she says.. but maybe those cleaners would rather be sunning themselves or taking a walk or spending time with their family, too?

Ah, those evil exploiters of Dub willingness to get down and dirty! I can just see those Dub cleaners, dirt poor, but sunning themselves...
Is there anything the latte set don't feel guilty about?
