I know what it is to be popular. Well, to be totally honest, I know what it is to be unpopular, and I know that it feels really bad. I therefore assume that being popular would feel really good! Comments?

Blood, Hemopure, Stock Market: Society Investments
by Maximus inbiopure soars on hemopure trial results.
new york (reuters) - biopure corp. (nasdaq:bpur - news), a biotechnology company seeking to commercialize a substitute blood product, on monday said a late-stage clinical trial showed the product is comparatively safe.. the phase iii trial was conducted to determine whether the blood substitute, called hemopure, met its "primary endpoint,'' which was to show that patients receiving the product were as safe as those receiving donated red blood cells.. "this clinical milestone is an important step toward addressing the critical issue of blood availability on a worldwide basis,'' carl rausch, the company's chief executive, said in a statement.. the news comes two weeks after cambridge, massachusetts-based biopure was accused by online news site thestreet.com of delaying and covering up negative trial results.
the report sent the stock plummeting 11 percent.

Has anyone got a list of the society's investments? Could be a lucrative way to wealth if one emulated this greatest of all investment firm's strategies!
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed how this organisation whose whole raison d'etre is one of an imminent end of all things secular has invested a whole lot in those secular things abiding for some time into the future?

Thanks Maximus! I will leave it all behind. Nothing like this kind of thread to make one realise how much one is liked. Unfortunately, the answer to that question inspired me to consume a bottle of wine (nothing like alcohol to numb the pain of rejection!), so I'd ignore anything I say for the next few hours. Except: I've always respected you and the work you do - keep on keeping the bastards honest! (to quote [more or less] the campaign slogan of one of our local political parties)

Hmmm, the whole concept is interesting. I had friends who told me the hierarchy of all things important:
1. God
2. Family
3. Career
4. ChurchI have always agreed with this hierarchy, but note the big distinction between God and church. Unfortunately, anyone with any power within a religious organisation, beit elder, minister, priest or pastor, rarely see that there is a difference between 1,3 and 4 (and 2 usually goes into the mix, as well). So, when people who have real lives outside of church/KH try to convey that to those whose lives and careers revolve around the church/KH, they don't have the slightest idea what they're talking about. Sad, really!

You're not reading the plain English of MY statements, either, apparently! I have said, several times, that Maximus is too important to blow his cover for the sake of idle speculation. I simply didn't like the way he phrased his expression of that. His threat to stop posting because I offended him was tantamount to blackmail. Can you see how unfair that threat was??? As I said, I'd be the one who drove him from this board, which would make me a bigger villain than Friday, Fred or YK - isn't that just a tad unfair? My statement could have been ignored or simply dismissed as irrelevent - to make it the basis of Maximus' retreat from this board is just slightly over the top, don't you agree?

Well, since you're out of here, why would I bother answering? But I might add that a lot of people seem to be hearing things in my voice that as far as I'm concerned weren't there. You're right, I can't hear the tone of voice, and can only make judgement based on the limits of this medium. And yet no-one here seems to be giving me the same benefit of the doubt? Isn't that a trifle unfair? It reminds me of my religious background - how fairly you were treated depended on how important you were in the scheme of things.

Larc,
I repeat: I don't want to know any of that shit! I just took issue with the way Maximus dismissed a simple query at the start of this thread! Will you guys stop attacking me for two minutes and try and see what it is I'm actually trying to say! He said something about the original poster wanting him to paint a target behind his head, where he could have simply said, the time is not yet ripe, or something of less than a put down nature. SUre, there are plenty who would like to unmask Maximus, and all innocent seeming enquiries should be treated with suspicion. But the poster doesn't need to be dumped on! That, nothing else, is all I'm trying to get across here.

Who said I'm interested in his identity? His response to the first poster didn't sound very nice to me, so I said so! And now he's threatening to leave this board because I opened my mouth and said so? How very nice - from now on, I'll be under a cloud on this board: "Whisper, point, whisper! He's the one who made Maximus leave!" Maximus' identity must stay secret at all costs, and I challenge anyone to show in this thread where I said otherwise. All I have been saying is that a request for such info can be answered with a polite no!
