one of the ways the wt tries to get you into believing you are not going to heaven even if you d not have faith in christ is by saying that if adam had not sinned we would all be living in a paradise earth.
the publication "reasoning from the scriptures" states on page 162: "it wa not jehovah's original purpose for man someday to die.......death was to be punishment for disobedience, not the doorway to a better life in heaven.
obedience would have ben rewarded by continued life, eternal life, in the paradise that god had given to man.

Does anyone have any comment on this matter?

Yes its www.watchtowerinformationservice.org. Full of the latest news on Jehovah's Witnesses' history, doctrine and practice. I especially liked the interviews with ex-JW's. This is not a pro-JW apologetics site by the way.
hi, i've been researching the society's explanation of the 144,000 and the great crowd in some consderable depth and i've reached the conclusion that both groups are one and the same, hence i digress from the watchtower's "two class" theology.
many sites dealing with witnessing to jw's often cite revelation 19:1 as proof that the "great crowd" is in heaven.
this verse reads: .

Many sites dealing with witnessing to JW's often cite Revelation 19:1 as proof that the "great crowd" is in heaven. This verse reads:
"After these things I heard what was as a loud voice of a great crowd in heaven. They said: "Praise Jah, you people! The salvation and the glory and the power belon to ur God" - Revelation 19:1 NWT
Jehovah's Witnesses claim that these words are spoken by angels and not by redeemed Christians in heaven. The way I refute that is by simply saying that the verse praises God as the source of salvation. Angels, according to Watchtower publication "Choosing the Best Way of Life" (authored by Raymond Franz whilst still on the Govering Body) "have no personal need for the divine arrangement of salvation." (Compare 1 Peter 1:12)
So from this small point and from the rest of Revelation chapter 9 we can say with confidence that this great crowd in verse 1 is a crowd of redeemable mankind in heaven.
this has been something that has been in the back of my mind for quite a while.
are those claiming to be of the anointed amongst jehovah's witnesses really going to heaven?
many jw' view them as being on a higher spiritual plain than the average jw and that they view the bible as a personal letter to them.

Since so much of JW doctrin is unscriptural can those of the "remnant" really expect to go to heaven?
My view is that these old-timers have been so indoctrinated by the Watchtower, over so many decades that they really believe they are Kingdom heirs with a view to ruling over the Paradise earth for 1000yrs. Tell me what your view of this is......
on another post a number of days ago it was rumoured that the society were going to announce or had already intimated that due to financial constraints there was to be an immediate stop to all kingdom hall construction worldwide.
if this is true this would be big news!!
can anyone on here, especially jw insiders shed any further light on this matter or offer some sort of evidence that this is/is not so.

just a quick thought - i am a firm believer in freedom of speech etc, but having been on this forum for some time i honestly can't say that i can introduce a doubting jw interested in true christianity to this board.
some of the deep discussions on jw doctrine are excellent, but everything else seems to be nonsense in my opinion.
why can't this site be more like the old www.witnesses.net which seemed to have more spiritual meat rather than backbiting, gossip, and rumour and even obscenity.. sorry for my frank opinion

publishing committee report .
a report from the publishing committee on making the best use of contributed funds.. five years ago because of construction in the united states and throughout the world on k. h. and a. h. and branches the needs were greater than the available funds putting quite a strain on the resources.. the design build committee limited any building projects to only those absolutely necessary.
this resulted in saving millions of dollars just the first year.. the operations committee with the help of a new integrated computer system was able to make some significant changes.
Tell me what you think

A report from the Publishing Committee on making the best use of contributed funds.
Five years ago because of construction in the United States and throughout the world on K. H. and A. H. and branches the needs were greater than the available funds putting quite a strain on the resources.
The design build committee limited any building projects to only those absolutely necessary. This resulted in saving millions of dollars just the first year.
The operations committee with the help of a new integrated computer system was able to make some significant changes. Formerly there were 6 purchasing departments, 13 receiving departments and 262 inventory locations at Brooklyn, Patterson and Wallkill. Now there is 1 purchasing department, and just 7 service centers handling the receiving and inventories. The inventory has been drastically reduced and millions of dollars have been saved.
New energy efficient boilers located in the Towers residential building are now also supplying all the heat and hot water for not that building only but also the other main buildings on Columbia Heights.
An integrated financial reporting system has enabled them to consolidate funds. These have been used for K.Hs, Branches, etc in other countries such as Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and some of the Pacific Islands. Places that do not have the necessary materials, resources, funds or experience to engage in such projects on their own.
Since November 1999 a new program was instituted for building some 2000 K.H.s in the above areas. Local volunteers who were able to work full time on such projects are being provided with food and lodging. By the end of this past service year 1,750 K. H.s have been completed. In
Rwanda for instance 90 K.H. were built for less than $9,000 each in the 2001 service year. Tanzania built 177 K.H. for less than $10,000 each. And Malawi saw 195 K.H. for $6,000 each. By the end of August 2002 they expect to complete a total of 350 K.H. in that one country alone.
Donations unfortunately have not kept pace, but have decreased even prior to September 11. Now we see severe economic conditions resulting in even less funds avail able for expansion.
The Bethel family of 20,000+ worldwide is being urged to help conserve resources. As an illustration if each of the 20,000 Bethelites turned off a 100-watt bulb for one hour each day, at the end of the year there would be a savings of $25,000.
Well, we live in exciting times and we will have to wait on Jehovah as to what the future holds for all of us and up here at Bethel as well.
