elder's meetings were terrible because all you ever did was gossip about how everyone wasn't doing this or that.
meetings for field service sucked.....enough said on that.

That was MY family that was up there every month! It wasn't because my family was so great but because we were the only "traditional" family with an elder dad, pioneer wife and 2 kids (boy and girl). The rest of our congregation was either single parent moms or 80 year old couples. God this reminiscing is bringing back some bad memories. . ugh!

The hardest to attend was the Sunday meeting, going to those hung over was torture, but the most boring was the "theocratic ministry school". Uck!

everytime a new revelation comes to the board, some suggest that this is the big one.
whether it be the blood issue, the u n debacle, the silentlambs saga, some cryptic comment about jw's and their involvement with churches, it seems like nothing effects the jehovah's witnesses rank and file.

Well, I tried to talk to my mom about everything negative that the Society has been involved in (UN association, pedophile policy, false prophecy) and none of it phased her. I offered to send her all the info. I found but she said she refused to look at any of it. I think that a major, and I mean major event would have to occur in order to open any eyes. I'm talking huge catastrophy, like the Governing Body hiring hitmen to kill some apostates. But even then all the lil JW's would think they were set up.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that the pedophile policy will not be the end of the WBTS
i was secretary in my cong, so i know how much the dubs donated, the cong i attended has about 60 publishers, but 5 families supported the whole kh.
i guess in my cong the dubs were obedient to all the "faith slave" said until it hurt their pockets.

Even though I am female we had a shortage of brothers for a while so I got to collect the money and count it and write the receipts and stuff with my brother. But what you say is true. Most of the big money came from about 4 or 5 of the brothers that were well off. We even had a parking lot fund for our Kingdom Hall and only one brother ever gave money for it, over the course of two or three years he practically bought the whole parking lot himself!

I personally would support my husband if he had a job he enjoyed and didn't want to go to college (even if he didn't make much money). I would not think less of him and it would not make him a lesser person. I am getting my Master's in Forensic Science with minors in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice. I LOVE school, he HATES it. I have no problem being the bread winner. I fell in love with him. When I fell in love he did not have a degree, and I'll love him whether or not he ever gets one. If he's ever in a "difficult situation" I'll be there for him; that's what love is all about!
