  JW preached to me not knowing I'm still in...

  so i was working at my 2nd job today in a store and i was the cashier for most of the day.

  it's been about 2 weeks since i've been to a meeting & i hadn't shaved so i had a somewhat hipster-ish stubbly beard going on.

  also my hair has gotten slightly longer, nothing noticeable to the world but something that would turn a few heads at the kingdom hall.

  That sounds like someone I know. What state you in. down to a t, words, outfit, paying with change. we all probably know someone like that. After all, this religion encourages poverty!

  you guys don't know me, i'm new here.

  i'm typing on an iphone (pardon any random weird iphone auto-spell corrections) and could walk home to get to my laptop but i might lose the courage to post what comes to my heart to share right now.

  worse and more likely, i'll simply not be able to express what i felt right now... if i wait until i have a proper keyboard.

  Its nice to meet you. I enjoyed your post. I can tell it came straight from the heart. I think most people are where you are, being captive by someone elses rules. We aren't willing to walk away from our mothers, fathers, sibling. These people aren't replacable, yet the organization wants them to replace you. No matter where we go in life, or who we have become, there is still a yearning for kinship with those that are our kin.

  I'm sorry, my heart breaks with yours. Here there are kind people who will listen to you. We are so very accepting, no matter what your views are.

  Do the "friends" tend to project their views onto others?

  "those worldy people are so lost" - utterence of any sort of familial hardship; divorce, ect.. .

  (df'ed person is seen in a public setting) "they look so sad, they don't have jehovah's blessing".

  how do you know if they're sad or not?

  What is the most out of line / disturbing experience you have seen from Circuit Overseers?

  i once heard of a circuit overseer blaming a loyal ministerial servant, that served as the accounts servant, of steeling from the contribution boxes, simply because he deposited the congregation funds bi-weekly instead of twice a week.

  due to the accusation, the ms was immediately removed without hearing his side of the story.

  isn't this rather counter-intuitive and innefficient?

  At a district convention, a sister who happens to be a carpenter, asked the c.o how they were planning on fixing the leak in the babtismal pool. He turned to look at her, with a disgusted look on his face he said," It is not for you to know, it will get handled by the brothers, thats all you need to know about it."

  Im trying to remember his name.. because he was a douche.

  Brother Manikas(spelling?) her was a pompous ass.

  for those who haven't heard the famous "infinitely ascending/descending tone", please listen to it now on the wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/shepard_tone.

  although the wikipedia version is unable to demonstrate this, one can download similar sounds and play them in a loop and the tone will seem to continue ascending or descending forever (here's a classic ascending tone to download if you want to try it).

  as one listens, it seems impossible that it could continue going in that direction without leaving the range of human hearing.

  Im sorry, my typing is horribler. My baby brother and his boyfriend had announced they got engaged in central park, NY. So we had a big party and now Im soo happy drunk and now I wanna talk shit about backwards JW's. I rreally hate their beliefs. They told me I should never talk to brother again because he chooses to disobey god.So my bro said, ayou know the scripture where it says any man that lays with man should be stoned..yes, I say, its a dumb scripture... he says, no its not, because me and brad layed down together and got stoned. I died laughing, right on!

  I have noticed in my husbands family that its like a commune. They all move in together to help someone pay for their house or car. My sister in law wants me, my husband, my MIL, my BIL, my SIL and all of the kids and spouses to move to a property and build a big house where they all live together and share the expenses. All of these things would be in my SIL's name, so she it would be in her name, her credit and she would get pay out when she sold it. I told them there is no way in hell I would join them in jonestown community. They do this even now. My husband lived with his sister until he was 33. He told me for his rent, which is a tiny bedroom, for 700 a month. He said he paid for his sisters car payments in return for rent. I then informed him that for the same price he could be living on his own. But he was glad he could help his sister. I'd be asking for that car he paid off. renting a room is not worth 700 bucks. They took him for a ride, and he cant even see it. They call it helping eachother out, but in reality it is just enabling eachother.
