  if creepy contact lenses, facial piercings and people who talk insanely fast (and over-use the word "legit") are not your thing, then don't watch this video!.

  i can actually remember at least a couple of instances where someone revealed they were gay on the doorstep to my partner and i and this didn't get rid of us immediately, but it did force us onto the back foot.

  i was sitting there in the dark and thinking what shadow looked like what, and what that noise was outside and you know what came to mind.

  what a wonderful time to think about demons!.

  maybe i am some evil person, but i just can not help but laugh when i read the bible or hear anything from it.

  along with a pretty zealous group of publishers.

  [even though no one has come out of our territory in 35 years] it seems i am the only one aware of the pattern of false prophecies and mistakes by the society.

  Cold and beautiful!

  it is wonderfully cold and clear outside.

  Nice description.

  Here in Australia the sun shines relentlessly out a cloudless blue sky. The air is dry and clear and in the distance the horizon is a blur of shimmering heat. Everyone finds excuses to stay inside on days like this as the thermometer climbs past 45C (113F).

  At least we have past the halfway mark of this blistering summer - the hottest ever recorded.

  This is tough one. And a good topic.

  I reckon the hardest thing when you first learn that the watchtower is all bullshit is to keep your mouth shut. You are so amazed with what you learn that you just gotta tell your nearest and dearest.

  I remember one rainy night my sister came over for dinner. I was just serving up the roast and we were enjoying some red wine when I blurted out that there was no need to worry about Armageddon because it was all a fairy tale. She put down her glass and her face turned pale. She said she had to leave, and she did. I gave her a plate of chicken and I have not ever seen her since. Or my plate either! That was in 1996. Up until then we had been extremely close.

  So the point is be very careful and tactful how you broach this subject.

  in the first post in this series i discussed the identity of the watchtower as per revelation 13. the second post dealt with the identity of the harlot and the scarlet beast.

  this post will deal with the third element "the image of the beast", lets read revelation 13:15-17:.

  the second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

  Former Bethelites, please settle this argument

  i was recently talking to a friend that's a former jw, and she argued that there are just as many women that live at bethel as there are men.

  admittedly, we're both slightly ignorant on the subject, since neither of us have actually lived at or even visited bethel.

  i've made the assumption that there are significantly more men than women at bethel, am i correct?.

  Single men made up the largest demographic. Then married couples and then single women.

  When I was there (Australia bethel) there was only four young single women. Two were housekeepers and two were nurses in the infirmary. Competition among the single blokes for three of these was intense! They were all married off within a short time.

  Woman get the domestic jobs. Housekeeping (room maids - all were women) and laundry. Unless your husband is a bigwig that is. Then you get a nice office job.
