  hey guys we get a mention again in the watchtower of feb 15th 2004. page 16 and 17 paragraph 6-10 "guard against deception by apostates" -- it talks about us believing the bible and even accepting jehovah in paragraph 6 but tha we reject the visble part of his organization.

  aren't we bad people?!!

  (btw i tried to scan article but my scanner is not working -- sorry) in paragraph 8 it says we resort to deception and half truths and that our words are counterfeit - and in paragraph 10 the brotehrs are warned to love the organization that has taught them and so not to be listening to us apostates on the internet -- for we see clear evidence that gods blessing is upon his visible organization -- so there you have it brothers.

  LOL! That is so generic that it isn't even laughable! And, notice, it says they are known for their total adherence to biblical teachings.......sorry, but, I'm not a christian, nor do I believe in the bible. That basically negates 9/10ths the world's other religious views or opinions, not to mention all the countries who are banning JW's because of those same "biblical teachings."

  As already commented on, check other non-christian religions, and respected by whom?????????????????? I gotta wonder about this whole quote!

  The rank and file lap this up because it appeals to their brainwashed minds. They don't think about all the other stuff like we do! They just gulp it down as "gospel" truth. We aren't brainwashed anymore, we can see the holes in their journalistic reporting and their reasoning. That's why most people won't even read the mags anymore. I was walking to the garage where I park when I'm working, and there, on the cement sidewalk near the bus station lay a WT mag. I was walking with a workmate, and could not resist deliberately grinding my boot heel on the front page. It lay there like the refuse it is, people paying no attention as they walked/ran to catch their bus.

  The only thing that bothers me about aging is that the body doesn't work as well as when you are young, energywise and recovery from illness, etc., but I love the silver highlights in my hair and the wisdom and knowledge that being almost 50 has given me, and all the experiences I have gained. Death doesn't frighten me, it saddens me when I lose someone close, but, that is only because you miss them in your life. I believe at death my spirit/soul will leave and be fine, the body will be left to decay and break back down into life's basic elements to be part of the cycle of this world. It's a natural thing...........

  I've seen families wrecked by this - as emotionally ill people spend years with

  physical illnesses by refusing to listen to their bodies screaming at them that

  cult-life ISN'T HEALTHY.

  I was sick with depression and allergies for YEARS while in the JDubs..........even had asthma for a while..........isn't it interesting that alot of the really bad episodes I suffered have gone bye bye since I got out five years ago? I can feel myself becoming healthier emotionally and physically every year that passes! Altho, lately, since I've become really really active on this board, I've been having these dream/nightmares about being back in with this thoroughly bad attitude, that soon becomes open revulsion and then I'm telling everyone of those WT geeks off and walking out the door..........honest.........it feels so good, it's got to be part of me healing.................

  VOTE FOR A CAMPGROUND PLEASE

  since thunder bay & nova scotia are 36 hours drive time apart, i realize that we aren't all gonna get something within a stone's throw....so i've picked listed 3 different campgrounds (area's) - please vote & whichever gets the most votes will be the one i go with - as they are all within 16 hours of me (and yes it's all about me!.

  #1: http://www.lafontaine-ent.on.ca/ - this is in the georgian bay, ontario area (i saw your batchawana bay idea calamity - but the area is the same - we can pick the campground next if this is selected).

  I'm in CT.............so, #2 or #3 are probably each the same distance..............whereabouts on Lake Superior is SG? I lived in New York for a longgg time, but nearer the Vermont area............I will try to make it, but would prefer a cabin rather than camp in a tent.........my back is a mess. But, the alcohol and nice, strong coffee sounds awesome and meeting all of you merry 'postates sounds wonderful~~~~put me on the list..............I'll make it with or without my BF~

  last week, while i was sitting at work, i noticed something i had never noticed before.

  mind you, i work at the university library, so i have been walking around that building for six years or so, while studying, and now while working.

  metatron's post about the decline and fall of "the society" led me to want to post some snippets of my family's saga with "the truth".. my parents were taught witness doctrine by a man named jim jones.

  he was threatened by mobs during wwii for being a witness and not being patriotic.

  my parents met during wwii at an airplane factory before they were witnesses.

  I really loved your analysis JB, it was fascinating! I also really appreciated Guest's rich comments, full of wisdom. I am really getting such a great perspective reading posts like these...........I am a history buff, even when I was a JDub, it took the form of reading up on the Watchtower History. When the Proclaimers book came out, it was like Mannah from heaven for me.............I had been hoping that they would publish something updated, since the 1975 Yearbook. Thanks again for sharing that..........

  ladies, since maverick posted his topic, i just had to post one for us ladies!

  in fact, i wanted to just share a nightmare basically on the same topic, that i had last night.............just a refresher course on my status: i was a dub for twenty-five years, met a worldly guy when i was 18 and he came in to the "truth".

  we dated, then got married at 21. we were married for twenty years, then i told him i wanted to end the marriage.

  Maverick...........and, if the brother was a listener and compassionate, then he got inundated! My ex was a compassionate, caring person......he just couldn't apply his own counsel at home. I know he's not gay, cuz he is married again, but, I think that is more for companionship than anything else..........he needs someone to love him and take care of him............I know that she must be a pretty independent type cuz she has her own business and flys all over the country and he putters around playing golf and his guitar and whatever else he's into now. I posted a comment about some of your and JT's observations on the thread about Sis in Distress, too. There was one "elder" in our congregation who was a real bastard. He has big time issues............his wife is Filipino, back 35 years ago oriental women were among the most subservient of women. I was not surprised he married her, so that he could control her. It took her 20 years to get Americanized, but, since she was a Dub, that only went so far. They were so unhappy, I used to wonder how they managed to stay together................they were total opposites.........she was loving and kind, he was stiff and restrained. Sad to say, she eventually became more and more like him........judgemental, pompous.
