as you guys are probably aware, the new watchtower for studying has shed new light on the generations issue (ie whoops we got it wrong, we were right before) .
the co's here in aus have been briefed to inform the congregation (either formally or informally) that is is part of the cunning of jehovah .
when jesus parted the non beleiver disciples from the core 12 (or was it 13) he made an outrageous statement and watched the weak walk off - thats exactly what jehovahs organisation has done today .
I wonder if the March Stubby, er, Study edition will tell us... "According to the measurements of Jehovah's Stone Witnesses, the Egyptian Pyramids, Armegeddon is coming either this October, or next October, or the October after that. Any that don't accept this new light are going to burn in a special hell that we've just discovered in a new chapter of Revelation that was unearthed in Pittsburgh. Yeah, really."

I've been wanting to go to Burning Man for many many years, but, am a little intimidated by the fact that it is in the desert and HOTTER than HELL........I don't handle heat well.......you have to keep on top of hydrating yourself, otherwise you literally stroke out.........and, you have to pack everything in, and pack everything out, right, Avi? Part of the concept is to keep the environment pristine.......
lakota indians withdraw treaties signed with u.s. 150 years agothursday, december 20, 2007. .
washington the lakota indians, who gave the world legendary warriors sitting bull and crazy horse, have withdrawn from treaties with the united states.. "we are no longer citizens of the united states of america and all those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are free to join us,'' long-time indian rights activist russell means said.. a delegation of lakota leaders has delivered a message to the state department, and said they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties they signed with the federal government of the u.s., some of them more than 150 years old.. the group also visited the bolivian, chilean, south african and venezuelan embassies, and would continue on their diplomatic mission and take it overseas in the coming weeks and months.. lakota country includes parts of the states of nebraska, south dakota, north dakota, montana and wyoming.. the new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free - provided residents renounce their u.s. citizenship, mr means said.. the treaties signed with the u.s. were merely "worthless words on worthless paper," the lakota freedom activists said.. withdrawing from the treaties was entirely legal, means said.. "this is according to the laws of the united states, specifically article six of the constitution,'' which states that treaties are the supreme law of the land, he said.. "it is also within the laws on treaties passed at the vienna convention and put into effect by the us and the rest of the international community in 1980. we are legally within our rights to be free and independent,'' said means.. the lakota relaunched their journey to freedom in 1974, when they drafted a declaration of continuing independence an overt play on the title of the united states' declaration of independence from england.. thirty-three years have elapsed since then because "it takes critical mass to combat colonialism and we wanted to make sure that all our ducks were in a row,'' means said.. one duck moved into place in september, when the united nations adopted a non-binding declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples despite opposition from the united states, which said it clashed with its own laws.. "we have 33 treaties with the united states that they have not lived by.
they continue to take our land, our water, our children,'' phyllis young, who helped organize the first international conference on indigenous rights in geneva in 1977, told the news conference.. the u.s. "annexation'' of native american land has resulted in once proud tribes such as the lakota becoming mere "facsimiles of white people,'' said means.. oppression at the hands of the u.s. government has taken its toll on the lakota, whose men have one of the shortest life expectancies - less than 44 years - in the world.. lakota teen suicides are 150 per cent above the norm for the u.s.; infant mortality is five times higher than the u.s. average; and unemployment is rife, according to the lakota freedom movement's website..
being born into a family with native american members, i applaud the spirit of the words that the Lakota have put forth, but, unless they can eradicate the corruptness within their own membership, it will mean nothing, just as the US constitution means nothing. My mom and I were discussing this topic this morning. She told me that there are 28 states in the USA that want to secede from the Union. She said that she never expected to see the day when America has become what it has..........we've lost so many of our rights, and haven't been a Democracy for many years. We just think we are. Time to wake up and smell the coffee, and, as I've BEEN saying all along it's going to take a grassroots movement to bring back freedom and peace to our country, and then, the world. Maybe it can happen, maybe not, it's all up to each one of us.
there are many ways to say this, but, it has been my experience that whatever you put out, will sooner or later, come back to roost or slap you in the face..........no judgement meant........for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction..........I like the current phrase going around: "god don't like ugly". so, if there's been "ugly" sooner or later, it will come home to the perpetrator. it's been interesting to read all the various responses to this situation.........some have made me laugh, some have surprised me and some have made me feel sad. that said, i also feel that there are more important things to be concerned with in life, as at least one poster has mentioned: children dying of hunger, women being beaten, raped, etc........perspective is important in the grand scheme of things............
yup..silliest thing i've ever heard to date.. i was out and about today this guy was an older man , walking up to people and shoving watchtowers in their hands like dive bombing witnessing.
i stuck my hand out and stopped him and just asked if he'd ever researched his own religion on the internet, that there was a lot one could learn about any religion and its history online now .
he said that the internet is quickly becoming identified as the anti christ then he ran off to shove more watchtowers in peoples hands with barely a word.

Today is International Disturbed People's Day Please send an encouraging message to a disturbed friend , just as I've done. I don't care if you lick windows, take the special bus, or occasionally pee on yourself.
You hang in there, Sunshine, you're special to me.
Part of it was leaving the organization, I found myself reading tons of books SITTING SITTING SITTING instead of exercising. I just had to get my head straight.......all that mess sorted out. I love to read, but right now, I am saturated. I just packed up maybe 200 books.......most all purchased since my fade.....maybe 50 of them .....about God, religions, Cults, Spiritual stuff, self-help......etc etc. (BTW in your exit I suggest reading reading reading)
LOL..........PS, you sound just like ME!!! I turned 50 this year, and did the same thing you posted...........so, about a month ago I made a trip to my mom's hometown in upstate NY and I walked/climbed MT. Defiance with my ex-JW GF Jean. She's the same age as me, but runs marathons.........well, I made it, but, it wasn't pretty, but, at least I can say I did it! Since then, I've decidded that I need to get back in shape, lose the weight I gained and become active again, instead of being a couch/bed potatoe.............GOOD LUCK, GIRL, to both of US!!!
