[fervent prayer]Please, Lord, help me for I have sinned a great sin!!! I have succumbed to the evils of learning, and have strayed from your will!!! Please, Lord, lead me not into the temptation of the information super-highway, and I'll numb my mind into your servitude forever and ever, and shun the demonic internet addiction!!!

Where to find "Crisis of conscience" ...
by Nicolas ini tried to buy it on amazon.com but it doesn't accept my credit card number and i know that my credit is not the problem.
so, i would like to find a site in canada instead of in united state.

I ordered it on amazon.com and it shipped in two days! (BTW I'm in Chapter 5 now...what a read, it's literally changed my life)
They use a drop facility or warehouse of some kind in Windsor, Ontario, so shipping in Canada is as seamless as it is in the U.S. for them...If you've got another CC, I'd try it, or go thru your local Chapters or Indigo. Amazon had a great deal though, especially coupled with "In Search Of Christian Freedom".

Mayor Daley of Chicago re: pedophiles
by Amazing inrecently, the catholic diosocese of chicago came under heavy fire because the church here knows about pedophile preists, and covered it up.
however, the church has offered to now turn over all information they have on catholic peodphiles, especially preists.. at first, mayor daley, a roman catholic tried to say that the catholic church is no worse than other denominations ... but he still hated to see this problem in the church.
he subsequently has called for the state of illinois to "abolish" the statute of limitation on reporting and prosecuting sex offenders, especially pedophiles.. [b]could you ever imagine ... a local jw circuit or district overseer standing up on the news, calling for a political chnage in legislation that would enable jw victims to seek redress of their grievance be asking that the statute of limitations be dropped?.

Well, yes, I could imagine...they're mostly here, and mostly ex-JW now.

Evidence of creation?
by chappy innot trying to start a discussion about extra-terrestrial life, but i assume that most feel it to be a rather strong possibility whether your belief is in creation, evolution or both.. i agree that discovery of intelligent life outside this world doesn't prove creation.
suppose however that such life were discovered and that it was of the homo-saphien variety?
what would be the odds of this happening through pure evolution?

If you believe that one spiritual creature exists, IMO, you believe by default in extra-terrestrials.
If there wasn't so much govt. suppression, perhaps the studies of metaphyics, ufology and the like would gain greater ground, and gain wider acceptance.
People are afraid of the unknown usually, and those with glass paradigms to protect don't want the stones of research to upset them.

yeah, peculiar hardly describes the situation there. It's as if the very ground they stand on has "anaethetized" them into feeling just blind revenge -- the next attack provokes the next one after that -- and it just cycles. Not even the disgust over the suffering and the kids fazes them, it seems, because each side accuses the other of terrorism, and the next lot is sacrificed on the altar of eliminating terrorism and terrorists (Bush policy copy-cats, if you will).
Where this ties in to the forum for JW discussion is how many feel that Armageddon is the great panacea for all that ills the WTS version of paradise; therefore the cute little babies and the innocent "worldly" kids and those "worldly" who didn't listen to their preaching and the rest: their dying doesn't even flinch a heartstring.

Is God all in the head?
by sleepy inthrough out time and nearly all human cultures and civilizations people have believed in god or gods?.
did this develop purly as a means for us to explian the world , or is there a part of the brain that causes peolpe to be religious?.
there is evidence that in fact certain parts of the brain are highly involved in religious beliefs and feelings.. its possible to actualy stimulate certain parts of the brain with a device that generates a strong magnetic field.. aim it at the front of the thalamus and you might experience a orgasm.

Hi sleepy!
In fact it seems that many people experiencing epilectic seizures originating in that part of the brain (temporal lobes) can have intense, spiritual experiences and become preocupied with religious and moral issues.
Well, here's the thing...the electromagnetic device you mentioned seems to me right on considering current metaphysical studies...
Evolved? I would tend toward us being DEvolved over time, when it comes to matters about our using our natural psychic and remote viewing abilities. Whether we were seeded here extra-terrestrially or created directly or indirectly, etc., the fact remains that these extra-sensory perceptions exist, and tie in to our spiritual nature.
Ever heard of Dr. Gary E. Schwartz's work?but for me "spiritual experiences" and "religious and moral issues" are quite separate and distinct. Humans who muddle these up often cause more trouble than good, IMHO.
In fact, even religious issues and moral issues can be separate and distinct from each other, as well...
Especially when the "religion" consists of organizational control group settings that force alignment of these to one's spirituality and morality. Then such regulated structure steam-rolls over one's own natural spiritual inclinations.
Morality, as opposed to religiosity, flows NATURALLY from a true spiritual person. Christ taught this as essence of Christianity; as opposed to the established organizational control groups at the time, who were works- and numbers- based.
