No, that wasn't an ATTACK, that was just my first impressions with what you said. If I'm ATTACKING you, you'll know it ! And I'll attack your idea/thought, rather than you personally. However, even you recognized you probably shouldn't have started it, so we'll leave it at that.
BTW, I probably put MUCH MORE credence into silentlambs' figures than most here do, or suspect I do. In fact, my wife considered them "conservative" and could well top 100,000 (but of course this is just speculation).
Bill, for the most part, IMHO, is misunderstood and comes across wrong to some, but the facts and the victimizations DO STAND OUT for themselves.

Mayor Daley of Chicago re: pedophiles
by Amazing inrecently, the catholic diosocese of chicago came under heavy fire because the church here knows about pedophile preists, and covered it up.
however, the church has offered to now turn over all information they have on catholic peodphiles, especially preists.. at first, mayor daley, a roman catholic tried to say that the catholic church is no worse than other denominations ... but he still hated to see this problem in the church.
he subsequently has called for the state of illinois to "abolish" the statute of limitation on reporting and prosecuting sex offenders, especially pedophiles.. [b]could you ever imagine ... a local jw circuit or district overseer standing up on the news, calling for a political chnage in legislation that would enable jw victims to seek redress of their grievance be asking that the statute of limitations be dropped?.

Because they want to maintain the cleanness (tm)of the name of Jehovah's Christian Congregation of Witnesses (tm).
Everything is sacrificed to the altar of preserving the congregation's "Good Name".

No offense, but on first take you kind of sound like some of the jokers who call in to Coast-to-Coast AM and promise inside info and are anonymous and all and then when pressed for more detail they go hide and you never hear from them again.
Now, you've already narrowed yourself down to a Manhattan law firm. Believe me, there's more intel gathering technology out there than can make your head spin, so take the leap or stay off the diving board.
How is going to tell us any more detail of the authenticity of the 23,000 number going to FURTHER jeopardize your position?
I mean, if you're that afraid that even abstract facts can get pinned to you, then why start this thread?
Unless you provide Who, what, when, where details, then I'm quite positive that you will not violate further any "confidentiality agreement" (more than you have done already by this thread.)
Now that you are trying to close the gate after the horse's already out of the barn: go ahead?
Of course, we don't want a list of 23,000 names.....sheesh.

how would you possibly measure the total 'potential' of a brain and the current used 'potential?' while it might be meaningful to say that someone has an under-used mind, to try and place a percentage on it betrays a lack of understanding about how the brain actually works.
I would say that a brain is much like a muscle, with use its connections and associations get stronger and more clearly defined. Like you say, it isn't a percentage measurement, per se, anymore than we can quanify use of our muscles, because they become larger and stronger, etc. with use and increased load. That is to say, to quantify a true upper limit would not be possible, as well. Not to mention, of course, other potentials not even tapped by most of the current human race...

dear brothers
I ve the same question for ray franz and penton 's books
these books help me really to become inactive.I was a wellknown elder in Francehey george, welcome to the board! Yes, the updates are more stingingly true, and when compared against the backdrop of new teachings (for instance the "generation" word shuffling) the revisionist history becomes even more clear. In Ray's book I'm reading now, it's reassuring that the thoughts and points he presents are contrasted to the "new light" that was present in my heyday in the Borg. I'm a little young to remember concretely the teachings re 1975, so I appreciate the up-to-date following.
If I were you, of course, I would get the updated version.
As an elder, you would appreciate that even more, as Ray speaks from the horse's mouth (even when the rest of the GB at times were speaking out of their collective ass including his own uncle Freddie). BTW, Ray is much more delicate and charitable than my description of them (which adds immeasurably to his credibility).
