Not a CO, but Canadian DO Wayne Johnson said this from the platform during a circuit convention that's pretty dumb: "I don't expect this system to last another 6 months at the most." He said this a few years ago, wonder how he feels today.

the dumbest thing a CO ever said
by nowwhat? in"if it was'nt for the preaching work there would be millions more witnesses" - he was saying jehovah wants quality not quantity.. si i'm thinking, what's the difference as long as he has a people that live by bible standards and are moral.
maybe sharing their hope and faith with friends and relatives on a casual basis?
how backwards is that?.

"Chapter 5 - Determining Whether a Judicial Committee Should Be Formed
Offenses Requiring Judicial Decisions
4. Attempted suicide may be the result of deep despair major depression. Deal carefully and compassionately with such a person. In most a judicial hearing is not required.-Ps. 88:3, 17J 18; Provo 15:13; Eccl. 7:7; w90 3/1 pp. 5-9; 3/15 pp. 26-30; g90 9/8 pp. 22-23; w83 8/1 pp. 3-11."
Doesn't say anything about being DF'ed over it, that would be kind of stupid if it was the case, reminds me of how around Shakespeare's time, if you got caught committing suicide, you would be stopped, put on trial, and sentenced... to death.

JWs in China?
by crochunter indoes anyone have any info about jw in china?
i've never heard about this topic?
since everyone is supposed to be witnessed to, china is obviously important.. thanks.. croc.

Damn its weird to post in such old threads. but i have been hearing of jw's and china a lot recently.
Anyway, some peeps i know mention other witnesses who have gone to China to "preach". However, they say they can't reveal what is going on in china with regards to JWs, but that "amazing" things are happening over there, and that the newest brochures, the ones with like 2 sentences on each page, were made specificially for the Chinese.
AFAIK jw's aren't banned in china, right? so why the secrecy? and china has been relaxing its grip on religion in the last few years.
but i seriously doubt much is happening over there.

If Circuit Overseers drive Buick LaCrosses, what do Governing Body members drive?
by Calebs Airplane in.
i dont think anyone really knows the answer to this one... but im thinking theyre probably driven around by cos in their buick lacrosses and don't actually have cars of their own... but i could be wrong..... by the way, the cos in my area drive used toyota corollas... so it would appear that the american cos get the plush cars while non-american cos get second-rate vehicles.. .
purchase used circuit overseer cars here.... .

In Canada, CO's and DO's still use the 2007/2008 Toyota Camry models. However, a CO told me a year ago that Georgetown is now switching to the new Chevy Malibu's come the next CO switch... Which the branch was using before the Camrys (unless I am thinking of the Buick Lacross). Anyway they made the switch to the Camry because the old Malibus/Lacrosses were always in the garage (typical Chevy)... but now they want to go back to those crap buckets.
IMO, Toyota wanted to raise the fleet rate they get, and they didn't like that so went to Chevy and they prorably offered them a rate much less than Toyota, but they'll be paying for it soon enough.
I bet GB get Cadillac CTS haha. Or Lexus ES.
EDIT
actually this reminds me, I was playing around in Google Maps using streetview the other day and saw some nice cars convenently parked around 25 Columbia Heights including a BMW and a Camry, and some cars had "For Sale" signs on them. see here

by Richard_I ini noticed on the news part of jw.org, they mentioned this comment:.
"there were power outages at the branch office facilities in patterson and wallkill, new york, and these facilities ran temporarily on generator power; however, the warwick facility is still operating on generator power.
the storm also disrupted telecommunications services at these facilities.".

Canada Zone Visit - April 2013
by Richard_I injust got word of a zone visit for canada in april 2013, think it was april 8 to 14. sounds like its just 2 members of the u.s. branch comittee, no gb.
however, they plan on showing a talk on april 13/14 to all congregations in canada, not just a select few as has always been the case.. it'll be the same old stuff, but maybe this is why they the watchtower is purchasing all those projectors, like that "confidential" document mentions?
to broadcast things like this in all congregations?.

also for those still in, am i the only one who never heard of these zone visits until 2007/2008, where it seems like we get them every year now? I don't ever recall any zone visits (in canada anyway) before 2007/2008.

thanks for the welcome everyone.
@Aware!: it's a computer programming program. writing code and stuff.
@whathappened: they are baby boomers and converted to jws in late 80's. all that time my dad was never even appointed ms. the elder body in one congregation had a serious grudge against my family and we never knew why. we'd come in late and be expected to sit in the front center of the hall. couldnt get backsets because the elders and their wives (who had no children btw) would take them for themselves. i personally think it was because my fam was the only one that came into jw's, 95% of the congregation were all born-ins.
i remember my mom saying something happened one time, i cant remember if it was in my fam or somewhere else, but the elders told their wives about it and none of them would talk to my mom. she felt very left out and alone because of this and how we have nobody outside our immediate family who are witnesses, and i got over 14 aunts & uncles, so there was no one to talk to for awhile. she would never say what exactly caused this though. gets me angry even thinking about it.
@breakfast of champions: yeah forgot about 607. they cant ever change it though, or else all their beliefs go to shit, so they're stuck defending it forever.
