this isnt' anything new to us, but to the public, this is a great informative video. they mention that the pedo is still a JW, let that sink in... a pedo is still going door-to-door, possibly talking to kids without their parents' knowledge. now, think about all the pedos that are JWs that we don't know about because their actions are not reported to the police, that are freely talking to kids on a daily basis, both within and outside the congregation... sad, sad, sad!

How successful we're quickly builds in your area
by joe134cd ini remember hearing about quickly builds how this was a sign of jehovah's spirit that the kh could be built in 3 days.
but what i am wondering is just how successful we're these builds.
i can think of a couple of halls that were built by the quickly built methods that i would suspect they would of lost money on.
-
Richard_I
afaik quick builds are no longer done in canada, many of the 70's to early 90's quick builds now need large renovations due to poor construction, mainly due to moisture buildup/water leaks. supposedly they used the usa's building code when it should have been different due to the colder climate up here.

Who still goes to meetings and out in field service?
by SloppyJoe injust curious as to who on here still regularly attends meetings and goes out in service?
as i sit at the district convention i can't help but think who else out in the crowd is just like me.
doesn't believe what they hear, but are still here..

i do :/ i still live with my parents and if i dont go to meetings/service, im pretty sure i'll get kicked out and i cant afford living on my own just yet... hopefully next year though. only get 1 hour a month and attend about half of the meetings. yeah the elders are on my back but only during the summer when school's out and im just working. the rest of the year i just say i'm tired from work+school and they back off.
i was thinking of the same thing during my convention. how many are just going through the motions because they're trapped in the religion, and are right here with me?
as soon as im done school i'm done with this religion, don't care if my family ostracizes me, i'll finally be free

An official Jw.org YouTube channel.
by His Excellency inan official jw.org youtube channel.

wow... never, ever thought they would make a YouTube channel, it always seemed to "worldly" to me and I assumed apostate videos would likely be in the related videos due to similar key words. plus, there's no way they will allow comments. very strange.
if this gets mentioned in an elder's letter/letter to the cong., that would be big.

Something the WT will never admit regarding jw.org
by Richard_I inwe all know how much the jws higher education and how they look down on those getting a post-secondary diploma or degree.
but think about all the work needed to make jw.org:.
web programmersdatabase programmersnetwork programmersgeneral it (administration, maintenance, etc.

We all know how much the JWs higher education and how they look down on those getting a post-secondary diploma or degree. But think about all the work needed to make jw.org:
- web programmers
- database programmers
- network programmers
- general IT (administration, maintenance, etc.)
- systems technicians
etc. All those kinds of positions really need post-secondary education, often a Bachelor's degree in computer science. JW.org was created by people with degrees. It simply would not exist without people who have post-secondary diplomas and degrees.
So when people talk about how "amazing" jw.org is, think about how much education is required to create and maintain the Web site and then think about how often the WT badmouths people with degrees or the pursuing of higher education.
Doublespeak and hypocrisy at its best.

Anyone here work at World HQ in Brooklyn?
by InChristAlone inif you do and are familiar with the writing staff, please pm me.
no need to compromise your identity by posting in public..

Any bethelite at Wallkill, Paterson, or Brooklyn can look up any U.S. bethelite through Admin 2000, the internal computer program they use at bethels used for shipping, lookup, etc. You'll see a persons ID photo, their room number, roommate, phone number, work number, department, and location (Wallkill, Patterson, or Brooklyn). Biggest regret I have it not screenshotting the whole writing committee/administration guys info and putting it on a USB drive and taking it home. I think there were like 3 women and 7 old guys on the writing committee, and administration was the "GB and their helpers", probably around 20-30 old guys.

"Are the Jehovahs Witnesses onto something?" - re: blood transfusions - Montreal Gazette
by Incognito ini haven't seen anything posted about this but here is a link to a july 12/13 montreal gazette article entitled: .
too much blood: researchers fear the gift of life may sometimes endanger itthe title of this thread was taken directly from the article.. http://www.montrealgazette.com/health/much+blood+researchers+fear+gift+life+sometimes+endanger/8652224/story.html.

Some quotes from the article regarding JWs:
When doctors at a New Jersey hospital pioneered a “bloodless” surgery program for patients who refused blood transfusions on religious grounds, they discovered something totally unexpected: Jehovah’s Witnesses, who would choose death over a transfusion, recovered just as well as transfused patients — and in many cases, even better.
They suffered fewer post-surgery complications, spent less time on mechanical breathing machines and had shorter stays in intensive care.
Recently, doctors from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio reported that Jehovah’s Witnesses who refused blood transfusions while undergoing cardiac surgery were significantly less likely to need another operation for bleeding compared with non-Witnesses who were transfused. They were also less likely to suffer a post-op heart attack or kidney failure.
Are the Jehovah’s Witnesses onto something?
...
While Jehovah’s Witnesses have taught doctors that the body can compensate for extraordinarily low levels of hemoglobin, levels that are too low mean the cells and tissues in the brain and other vital organs become starved of oxygen.
Hebert has watched Jehovah’s Witnesses die for refusing to be transfused, an experience that leaves the medical team feeling helpless. “But you can’t force your values on someone else,” he says.
Hebert says more research and education is needed to help doctors decide how long they can safely wait before ordering blood, how much blood they should give and when to hold off giving any blood at all.
“The problem is that we don’t have the data,” Hebert said. “In many cases, we just don’t know.”
It's a very long article, but an interesting read. They also include a diagram of a few statistics on blood transfusions in Canada.

JW ex-boss is such a horrid man!
by Julia Orwell inok, so my husband worked for this slave driver jw boss in a factory, and injured his back on the job.
so my husband has launched a compensation claim against the jw boss's worker insurance for unsafe work practices.
so the jw ex boss has responded to the claim with this mega statement affidavit thing.
-
Richard_I
I was also gonna make a topic on this as well. My JW bosses have been the worst thus far, they take advantage of their JW workers, they unneccessarily hold your cheques (i've gone five weeks without a cheque once!), they expect their workers to be worked to exhaustion, and they often yell at their workers. Obviously I have experienced all of the above, but so has my brother with different JW bosses. Some brothers are downright ferocious in their anger when something goes wrong and will scream at their workers, a very scary sight that I've seen a few times.
Never, ever work for a JW, ESPECIALLY IF THEY OWN THEIR OWN BUSINESS! They'll just take advtange of you! Plus none of my bosses ever did direct deposit, I always had to pester them for a cheque to deposit myself. And they expect far too much from their workers.

Dumb line in Bible Study presentation in July 2013 KM
by Richard_I inin the july 2013 km for the presentation to start a study, this is the recommended presentation: "almost everyone prays at one time or another.
even atheists have prayed when in trouble.
do you think that god listens to all prayers?".

in the July 2013 KM for the presentation to start a study, this is the recommended presentation: "Almost everyone prays at one time or another. Even atheists have prayed when in trouble. Do you think that God listens to all prayers?"
Why did they include this line about athiests? If a jw encounters an athiest, the athiest is gonna stop them right there and tell them how disrespectful that is. That line is only there to start an argument, really, it serves no purpose other than upset people.
Can you imagine someone coming up to you and saying, "Everyone prays! Even athiests pray when they're about to die!" Very confrontational.
