Thanks for the info Blondie!

tonight was (apparently) the final episode, as cbs has made the incredibly brain dead decision to cancel it.. i liked it.
the conspiracy plot kinda dragged on and on, but some of the other subplots and ideas (especially about the corporatization of america, and the obligation of citizens to reject a government that no longer represents the interests of the people) were not normal television fodder.. oh, well.
it was a good experience while it lasted..... .

personally, i stayed at home (my wife went), made steaks, drank beer, and watched several vulgar/demonic movies in the world of the jw's (halloween, the eye, hitman, no country for old men, saw iv).
i later went over to my mother in laws house to meet up with some other in laws - who i saved from the jw's - and talked about how the memorial was a waste of f@cking time... then drank more beer waiting for my wife to come back...
Was it on Saturday?
We had traveled down to where our grandson attends college. His apartment is small and didn't have enough chairs so we wound up at our motel room taking turns playing Scrabble with my son, grandson, hubby, and two of grandson's college pals. We had a fridge, a microwave and all sorts of extra goodies we did not expect! It was a bitterly cold and windy night, so we turned the heat up, ordered pizza and had a great time. It sure beat the Memorial!
If it was on Sunday----we all went to dinner, dropped our grandson off at his apartment and then we were on our way home from the Mohawk area of central NY.

Jericho has been on in reruns on the cable SCI-FI channel.....and maybe just MAYBE, someone is developing new episodes to be shown there.
One can hope
sorry if this has been posted before, but i just came across it.. "jehovah's witnesses elders must tesfify in murrieta molestation case, judge rules".
http://www.pe.com/localnews/rivcounty/stories/pe_news_local_h_faith26.4193557.html.
Jehovah's Witnesses should not be treated differently from members of other faiths simply because their practices are different, he said. [[ That works both ways. ]]
It certainly should anyway!
Being oddballs with their own peculiar set of rules and regs should not mean they are exempt or should sneak out from under anything legal.
as many of you know , me and my fading 23 year old son have been trying to reach out to my polite 21 year old jw daughter .
sending cards, letters , phone calls just to let her know we love her, miss her , and remind her of good family times we've had in the past !
not being pushy - just being authentic with her !
It is always heartwarming to hear ANY conversation with JW members of the family. I am pleased for you both and hope that she will soon realize what a horrid cult she is wrapped up in....and get out.

About Jericho:
It really stinks to like a show....have it disappear and then read "SURPRISE! it was cancelled!".......and then to find out it had been revived and brought BACK....only to have it canceled all over again after a few new episodes!
I am not a happy camper.
i have been scouring through the older posts looking for info on that gal that had inoperable cancer and the last i saw....she had gone to florida and the space center, etc complete with pictures we saw posted on here.
i have forgotten her screen name and cannot seem to find anything on her, how she is doing---if she died---or what.. does anyone know who i am thinking about and what can you share on what has happened to her?.
(sorry, this is what i get for not keeping up with things here.).
Thanks Jeff!
All I can say is...what a shame, and I thank you for the link.

Oh!
Thanks, Jgnat!
She has been on my mind for a while now and I could not find any posts about her.....and not remembering her name was not a big help on MY end!
I had braced myself and was half expecting to be directed to a link showing her demise.....so I was spared THAT anyway!
And so it goes.....huh?
Thanks again Babygirl and Jgnat!

it has finally happened after a year of not attending meetings and so forth.
my cousin emailed me and said that he heard i was an apostate.
The dictionary defines apostate as one who has left a former belief system be it religious or political.
I became an apostate the moment my JW "study" conductor said I needed to write to my former church secretary and resign my membership there. I was told to include that I was going to become on of Jehovah's Witnesses in my resignation. According to the standard dictionary---I was now an apostate!
The men who run the WTS have made up their OWN definition, and JWs toss the word around like scattering henfood in a barnyard. It covers a LOT of ground while not actually penetrating very deeply. It is NOT a standard and accepted meaning of the word, but try and tell a JW that! It falls on deaf ears.
CULTS have words and terms that have one meaning....but when used by a cult member....have another entirely different meaning. They are said to be buzzwords that ONLY the cult member would recognize in a crowd of "normal thinking" people.
JWs think and reason like cult members simply because they are IN a cult.
