Broiled Scallops in garlic sauce is my very favorite meal! My second favorite is north Atlantic whitefish and I far prefer chicken to beef. I am crazy about the new Kentucky Grilled chicken.

Give me a flippin' break. These self-proclaimed chosen people are expecting to watch with glee as their Heavenly Gunman kills roughly 7 billion people as they look on safely from below his pinions. They will watch the flesh eating birds pluck out eyeballs and pick at the ribs of the evil crowd. And they are so distressed over this situation [which likely few of them actually saw occur] that they needed all night assistance to make it thru?
Everything is about them. Wow
Precisely what was going through my mind. They had better learn to toughen up if they expect to "witness" (excuse the pun) the event they have been so looking forward to...... and to frolic around with their picnic baskets while having a "loving" time playing hopscotch over the dead and decaying bodies of all those "neighbors" they claimed to love.
Edited to add: Sorry for going off topic but....today, I have had another kick in the stomach by a family member.... one of these phonies still trapped in this "pure and loving brotherhood". Something was told to me by another family member that just set me off. Like I have said before....HOW can these cold and heartless idiots possibly THINK they are doing what "pleases God" with their hideous and unnatural behavior and HOW do they ever expect US to "get over it" and "get on with our lives" (which means not to talk against the Watchtower Society)....if THEY won't stop rubbing our noses in their stench at every opportunity?

[Allow for response]. Then ignore.
by AlphaOmega ini haven't read any jw stuff for some time now, but this morning i found an electronic copy of the current "our kingdom ministry" in my e-mail.
i had a quick flick through and realised how rude the "doorstep suggestions" are.

It is rude to walk onto people's private property,
uninvited and unwelcome,
with the express intention of pointing out to them
that whatever their religion may happen to be.......
it is the wrong one and is "not pleasing to God".
How more rude can anyone be?

UPDATE ON MY BROTHER IN LAW
by Mary ini had done a post back in january about my brother in law who was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/170540/1/does-anyone-know-anything-about-myelodysplastic-syndrome.
on this thursday past, they got the worst news imaginable: it's turning into leukemia.
this is not regular leukemia, but what is called acute myelogenous leukemia which is far, far worse than regular leukemia.

That way, they'll have something to reiterate with when the HLC shows up.
And you know they will be there with guns drawn. It really stinks how quickly they will swoop down on these families and "take over" under the guise of "caring" and "brotherly love" when it is ALL about maintining the WTS policies.
I am so sorry to hear of your BIL's situation and your family's problem. It is great that you are so knowledgable in how very slick and clever the WTS is, and can offer some really good advice to help them to keep their heads on straight, knowing that they are so vulnerable right now. It is good that you have your fingers on the pulse of things. Our hearts are with you and yours....

UGH!
Sadly, I put GMA on instead of Today and realized my mistake too late. I switched over to NBC in time to watch Heidi and Spencer Pratt being interviewed by Al Roker (THAT was something!) but missed the segment about your grandson. I can only imagine how proud you all must be of him!

What would it take for you to conclude that the WBTS is not God's channel?
by Mickey mouse ini wondered if you could answer this question for me?
you seem to be fine with the fact that they are false prophets, that they have changed the bible and that they have entered into an agreement to "uphold the aims of the un".. what is the deal breaker for you?.
i suspect that there isn't one, and that is not a reasonable position.. please tell me there is something they could do that would make you question their legitamacy?.

I wanted to comment mostly because there has been so much valuable info on this thread that I wanted to make sure I could find it again when I needed to. (Shameless I know) I wanted to say hi to Vinny and say I am glad to see him posting "great stuff" in his own unique "Vinny" way (LOL) and to say I appreciate the terrific thoughts this thread has lent itself to thus far.
It is extremely important for us to find just what we need to say to WTS defenders at any time it may come up.....and threads like this one offer a variety of things to be able to pinpoint. It's all good.

I did make it to one "gathering"....the one that Mouthy talked about at the "Witnesses Now For Jesus" convention.....that topped ANY AND EVERY CONVENTION I ever attended in 30 years in Watchtowerland! I met so many great folks from this board and spent a lot of very precious time with Grace. I cannot travel more than an hour now so it is out of the question to attend any more of these fabulous gatherings. But I did have THAT three days and I will never forget the great memories.
As far as the pictures of apostafests goes....so many take the pictures, find out who is willing to have their face shown online...and who is NOT....and very graciously blotted out those that did want want to be seen just yet for whatever reason. Folks have always been pretty decent about this from what I could see.
Also, SOME get a big kick out of dragging out the WTS stuff and making light of what we ALL used to think was right from God's mouth. It is just one way of thumbing their noses at what tripe and garbage we swallowed down without question. Come on people...ya gotta admit that those horrid WTS "melodies" were laughable when we were IN the WTS.....and they sure look twice as foolish now that we are OUT, LOL!

Rocky girl, your story reminds me of the thread recently about the Dubs at a Kindergarten party who asked someone to move. If they want to shun, I say let THEM get up and move. They expect everyone to bend over backwards to accomodate their rules. If someone doesn't bend to their stupid demands, well, the Debil sent them to ruin their evening. I cannot believe those people actually asked the Management of a restaurant to make you move to another table!! Christ on a cracker!!
It seems they are worse in large groups. I guess they are all competing to see who is the most righteous and who follows the letter of the Dub Law. It's so ridiculous is sickening.
I live in a very small town. When I run into Dubs they act like they've seen the Devil. Hell, maybe they have.
I agree that they are worse in large groups....they feed off one another and that increases their already haughty attitudes. I live in a very small town and have seen this played out as well.
I am disabled because of two strokes, I walk (slowly) with a cane, and I am just under a whopping 5 feet tall.....and yet I am skirted around and avoided as if I was storming through the Post Office with a loaded AK7, LOL! It is quite amazing to see their "act" and how stupid they look!
I used to be more accommodating to the "Watchtower Way" and stand aside whenever I saw WTS followers in any public places. I no longer cowtow to their wishes and stand firm to whatever I am doing or wherever it is I am headed for...THEY can move for ME if they so wish to remove themselves from my presence.
We really need to stand firm on this nonsense and stick to our guns (uh-oh did I say GUNS?) but to NOT allow this pipsqueak and VERY UNIMPORTANT GROUP of cult fanatics adjust OUR lives any more than they already have. I am too old to put up with any more of their garbage.
They have done more than enough damage to our lives.

Sunspot, that was probably Englishman, he is still posting pictures of his trips with his wife and family (And animals ) and meetings with other XJW's. I really enjoy them.
He used to have his own board but now just posts on a couple other XJW sites. Super nice guy.
Snoozy...
Hi Snoozy....yeah....I knew his (entire) name, but I wasn't sure about posting it or the other posters I recalled from that era....some forums have rules about mentioning former posters who either can't or won't post any more, so just to be safe I wrote it as is. ANY group pictures of apostafests always have everyone looking as though they are really enjoying themselves and enjoying being with one another, don't they?
Make no mistake about it----we DO share a very special and unique bond with each other---that of being sucked into a cult from Brooklyn that somehow convinced us that THEY has a special pipeline to God and were to ONLY ones blessed and approved BY him......those clever devils. It's no wonder that EXJWs want to celebrate getting OUT!
I didn't know about Mike's board but I knew Slippy had his own board too, I guess it "is" no longer either.
